Rather wee Jimmy as you put it than a bunch of self serving Tory cunts any day of the week.

The rest of the U.K. if it voted a Tory landslide seals the fate of every party up here saying staying together will be better.

How can being governed by a detested party forever be better?

That will be the choice and if we shite it then we deserve everything that servile attitude warrants.

'Self serving' that is the SNP all over!

I have never voted Tory in my life but the options are pretty grim:
Tories - Cuts to public services, benefits etc
Labour - all over the place
Lib Dems - insufferable

It's not a great choice

Here we go again . Another rant from a woe me Scot. Its simple mp. Because depsite all your bleating you lot do very very well out of the uk regardless of what government is in power in Westminster be it Tory or Labour.

Fucking hate the shite that goes on in the lead up tso an election, that's me giving the news a miss for the next few months.

The whole political system is fucked up and there is no sign of it getting any better, how a party pulling less than 35% of the vote can have a mandate to run the country is beyond me.

I'm a big believer that there should be a "No confidence" box on each election slip, if they did you would i suspect you would see the number of voters increase and they would be shown the distain the public have in them.

Bunch of cunts.

35% is irrelevant, you are basing that on a party basis and we do not vote for the party. The Tories gained a majority by the counted votes and number of MP's not the percentage. They gained 2M more votes than anyone else so can you really say they do not have a mandate?

Tories win
Lib dems pick up a few of the spineless remoaners votes
UKIP poll less than last time
Greens who cares?

Labour get a kicking and Corbyn joins Sinn Fein or hamas with Labour concentrating on the next election where they will be less to the left but not as right as Blair but maybe a little more or less to the left than Miliband.

There are still enough dead heads, idle tossers and public sector workers to give them the odd mp.

I think many will vote Conservative as a thank you and sign of trust many i feel secretly hold rather explicitly for May and her team. With that i mean their local councilor may be a bit 'meh' a stocking filler even but to solidify Conservative power as i really feel man many people feel safe with May. I know i trust her rather a lot, more than any other mp anyway.

I doubt i am the only one who has developed this mentality either.
I am totally with you on this opinion - I think that behind the scenes she is likely very resolute and 'steely'.

In the past she was working for Cameron, after this election she will have her own mandate and a clear path - free of all the sniping from the sides - to deal with the EU.

Too many Scots have Stockholm syndrome I'm afraid fella

Perversely SNP could suffer if Labour get their act together and campaign as the effective opposition. The SNP aren't likely to gain any more seats, so could lose some.
That would be interesting.

I am fucking off to a log cabin far away from civilization for a few weeks.

Shame on the house of lords for pissing around forcing this, bunch of useless shits.

May will be onto a winner anyway - but just imagine if she inserts a reform/reduction of the HoL into her manifesto - it would be a landslide.

Wee Jimmy's party have taken self service to another level, a one trick pony of a party with a self serving divisive leader, who has nothing to say, other than she wants independence from the UK, this, despite the results of a once in a lifetime referendum and all polls carried out since..

I for one will be very happy if the Tories get a landslide victory, which they will, maybe then wee jimmy will start championing the causes of her fellow Scots and not her own self serving hypocritical agenda.

You might be right. It's a sad reality I think will prevail. If we do that you will never hear me say the scots are a brave race again.

Our new name will be Serfland where everybody has to travel on their knees. The flower of Scotland will be replaced with a White Lilly and the lion rampant replaced by Lilly Savage in a tartan mini skirt holding a fucking pug.

We will be banned from drinking our own whisky and bar room brawling will be replaced with focus groups and role playing anger therapy sessions..... during sessions.

On the other hand, if we win.... :)

It's all to play for.

How about a Bluemoon poll at the top of this thread @Ric ?
BM was spot on with the Brexit vote. It will be interesting to see if the BM membership reflects the population again.
Well to be worthwhile the vote should be on the size of the majority, perhaps in groups of 20 - I am going 110

Going to be voting Tory for the first time ever, a landslide for May and it's game, set and match Brexit ;)

If one good thing might come from this election, it might be to reduce the Sturgeon faction north of the border, and give the country a chance of staying a united kingdom.

Other than that, I can't think of any good coming from it.

Agree
Perfect timing in my view - it is what the UK negotiating team will have wanted as they prepare to face off against the EU. Currently the EU leaders will have been preparing in the knowledge that the UK team are getting lots of noise and distraction from within Westminster. The UK needs to be able to play hardball with regards funding and other areas in the face of the EU stances - this GE will give them the mandate.

I just posted this in the Brexit thread but it is a fit for here as well:

Well done Prime Minister - an absolute game changer and holding a GE will strengthen the UK's negotiating position enormously

Really glad that I have not gotten around to answering your question yet Len - my response will be much more bullish now. We should all, IMO - whether leave or Remain voters - wish to celebrate that there is now clear evidence that Mrs May is absolutely committed to Brexit and has the capacity for determination - even ruthlessness in decision making. I say whether Leave or Remain voters because it now seems clear that we at leaving the EU so we should want the best for the UK and that those negotiating for us to have the strongest possible position.

All those poncy games being played by the likes of Farron and Benn recently - the GE will be like a flood that cleanses away all the detritus and the wasters that have been threatening to undermine the UK during the negotiations.

You can imagine that there will be a number of long-voting Labour constituencies that will be willing to vote Conservative this time secure Brexit, whereas such as places where I live (Wokingham) whilst perhaps last year returning a Remain majority there is not any chance they will switch from the Conservatives.

And as for UKIP - why would not every UKIP voter not vote Conservative on this occasion - they get everything they have wanted.

Good news for Labour - you will have a new leader in July - good for the UK as well because our democracy needs an effective opposition and especially good news for the UK as May will have 5 years to make Brexit a cemented reality - with no/limited scope for it to be reversed

Agree probably a good result all round. Labour can get rid of a crap leader and utopian ideology and get back to reality with a more electable vision for the country. And the Tories and May can push ahead with a mandate. Have to say I would like a option that said none of the above on the ballot paper.
