Arsenal(FA Cup Semi Final) Post Match Thread

Saw that game too.
It's the way forward

Very impressed with the way how it did not alter the flow of the game together with the attitude of the players even though it was a friendly.
We saw the usual quick replays and suddenly the goal was disallowed, I think Silva played and also scored a video given penalty if I´m not mistaken.

I watched a replay on BT of the disallowed goal. When Sane crossed the ball, the linesman was level with the edge of the penalty area. Consequently it is factually impossible for him to see that the ball was out. If a linesman doesn't see something he can't give it. This for me is the clearest evidence of cheating in the many instances we have seen this season. I wish the club would seriously do something. It is just ruining any enjoyment when game after game you end up truly believing that you have been cheated. Small margins at the top levels in sport and we have no chance if this continues.

Thought the same. And BT showed a shot from pitch level around where the linesmen would have been & the ball looked even more in. No possibility he could have called it out with any certainty. Maybe not cheating but if not completely unprofessional for fa cup semi final.

Totally and utterly unfair to blame Pep or the players for this result.

Dominated possession, dominated chances, hit the bar and the post and denied a clear penalty and another goal that would have made the scorline 2-2

Just what is Pep and the players expected to do in the face of such biased officiating. We got a free kick in extra time and the ref only stepped out nine steps making it virtually impossible for Yaya to get the ball up and over the wall. That just about summed up his attitude.

The Lino clearly guessed that the ball was over the line for Agueros first which ultimately sums up the official attitude to us. If they can find a pretext to shaft us they will. I'm sure the club is well aware of what is going on.

The ref has a poor 45 minutes but remember we went 1-0 up in the 2nd half and lost 2-1. The ref had no part to play in the 2nd half and ET.

I am now dreading Thursday boy wonder has been rested by Moureen, no doubt the required bent officials are in waiting, can't wait for season to end, off to my finca for summer, no bad news football wise there.

To be honest their days are numbered so they had better get it in this season because video ref will expose them very quickly.

oh, and that prik Sanchez can fuck off too. celebrating like a rooney in front of us
Yeh thought the same. If we are his next destination he did nothing to endear us to him by doing that. It was a huge goal for his current club so I wouldn't knock him if he did a Tardelli. If he does come to us that memory of him doing a Rooney will always be there.

Arsenal just kicked the shit out of you first half...and that was before the penalty.
The ref allowed them to get away with it.
Definite penalty...and goal should have been allowed.

In saying that....City sat back second half,..(or Arsenal played better)...
So unlucky hitting the woodwork a few times....especially the world class save from Yaya...

Bounce back on Thursday

And that first goal would have made it two or three nil..and game over.

Not really, as this season has proved several times we take the lead and don't keep it. We go one up and take the foot off the gas, poor mentality.

The game was in our hands and we lost it.

we're just not good enough, went the same way as so many games this season it's barely worth repeating.

Jesus better be ready for Thursday and on fire because that's the only thing that will give us top 4. I won't miss that too much anyway, almost at the point where I want the current status quo at City to get such a big kick up the arse from ending up in the Europa that it forces things to change for the better, reigns in the senior management and brings the club back a bit closer. Plus, playing interesting teams in the Europa I find fun, and means we could finally blood some youth on Thursday nights.

Just want a big, big change in the club's way of doing things and I want to see Pep put a Pep team out and return back towards what he states are his principles and ideas, rather than this which is early Mancini-lite.

We were just unimpressive today.

Well this is my take on the game after seeing today.....

We played well, arsenal in the first half fouled us like fcuk which went unpunished apart from one yellow brandished. We hit the woodwork twice and had 2 good chances in extra time - delph should have scored or at least hit the target and iheanacho failed to take the ball with his first touch which would have created a shooting opportunity at the least.

We need to move on now because Thursday's game is massive. You can bet you last pound that maureen will be happy with a point in this game but we need to be both smart and ruthless. Smart enough to know that united will play defensive looking to nick a breakaway goal, but ruthless so that we put the game to bed
