Saw his brief interview with Henry on Sky where he talks about GJ and his own future at the club. He said something along the lines of wanting to crack on until the end of the season. Never mentioned next season or beyond.

This has been his way of communication throughout the year basically. Will be an interesting summer, but I still sort of think (and hope) that he stays.

I still think there's a good chance he will go in the summer. So much of our play was breaking down when he got the ball as over and over again he ran down blind alleys when he had perfectly good options available to him. I just think that is the opposite of everything Pep wants from his players. I don't want to criticise him, he has been fantastic for us and I love the guy but working harder or not, I just don't think he is what Pep wants.
And sterling and sane weren't running down blind alleys? Pep may not want him but he's just scored 12 games on the bounce. I'm sure someone else will and I fear we will regret letting our greatest ever striker go.

I'm not suggesting that he isn't a fantastic player, he is. I just think Pep probably wants someone who can be involved in the build up play better than him. Sane and Sterling both ran at their fullbacks and got tackled on plenty of occasions but I don't remember too many occasions where they had great options to play people in and just ran at people with their heads down. Not saying it didn't happen but I certainly don't remember it if they did. Whereas I remember at least a couple of occasions where I thought Sergio could have played someone in for a one on one and just ran into defenders instead. Added to that that he doesn't seem to be running in behind himself as much as he did, possibly due to losing a half a yard of pace. As I said, I love the guy but I wonder whether we should cash in on him now while we would still get a hefty wedge for him and replace him with someone who will fit this rather specific style of football a bit better. I am increasingly thinking Griezmann would be a much better fit but who knows? But I don't doubt he will continue to score lots of goals next season whether he stays with us or goes elsewhere.

So Sergio is now officially the second best Man City goalscorer, and is on track to end the season with his best ever tally for us. By the summer he could be just a handful of goals away from being the best. I don't see him leaving, being that close to such a record.

Have you got the source and the comments please,he was holding his groin, just as well jesus is back

Just read it on the m.e.n site via newsnow man city kaz it said city remain hopful he can shake it off but pep unsure until hes had a scan 2moro!!! As its his groin

250th appearance today. Capped it with a goal and assist. Would have lost without him.

13 goals and 3 assists in his last 14 games all comps.

Legend!

Fingers crossed his injury is not a severe one. We need him.

If he leaves it will be next year.

Pep has top many problems and too many positions to fill to be worrying about another problem in selling Aguero and bringing someone in who will guarantee to replace his goals.

Pep needs to stop creating more problems.

Set up one

Made the pass to sane that created the penalty

scored the penalty another

set up another which GJ missed from 4yds out (imagine the outcry if that had been Kun)

and yet some still want to criticise!

As someone else said, we have enough problems, we don't need to create more by selling him.

He has adapted really well and it looks like him and GJ could form a very good understanding (not going to say partnership as forward play is so much more than that nowadays)

lets hope its not very serious and he can still play apart in the run in.

I agree.

Only watched the highlights but Kun could and probably should have had 2 assists today.

I think long term if this partnership does occasionally become a thing - preferably against a bottom half teams parked bus - then I see Jesus being the link-up man and Sergio being the target.

I think in general, Sergio's all round play has massively improved since Jesus has come into the squad. Something has definitely clicked with him regarding Pep's demands.

i think it should be at least given next year.....

Kun has worked his socks off and deserves the chance...plus I'm not sure sanchez would score as many as Kun either and more importantly we have other areas of the team we need to improve and spend money on before creating a problem that doesn't exist at present

Well said.

Sometimes people don't appreciate what they have until they lose it.
