Vincent Kompany - 2016/17 performances

This is the kind of player we should be trying to produce, strong, confident to go in for a tackle and not just wait, AND can also pass between the lines.
Kompany's passing ability often goes unnoticed, he is better than Stones imo in this regard.
 
Beast. Best defender I have seen at city. If he had stayed fully fit we would have won the league and he would be known as the best defender in the world.
 
I really hope he plays to the end of the season and has a good preseason. A fit vinny next year is like a new signing.
 
As good as Vinny has been in recent weeks, I hope the club don't start thinking we don't need to buy a central defender in the summer now.

If someone like Bonucci comes up then get him because we would still be a Vinny injury away from a complete central defensive and leadership collapse otherwise.

Yes that's the problem isn't it? Can we really trust Vinny to become a injury free again? I also think that we cannot. Unfortunately.

yeah agree...he has many good attributes but aggressiveness isn't one of them at present...has time though but maybe its a personality thing....VK is a natural leader.....dont see that in stones at present but he could develop these qualities

Atkinson seemed to be a bit lenient towards him and Otamendi versus Rashford, but still, he was a fucking battler and this sounds weird, but it's just so good to see him finish even a game these days without any problems.

Thought he was good in possession and his anticipation was good. I think momentum favored us and their wasn't as much to do often. But you play what's in front of you.

All the right soundbites but we've had this for a few years where our players talk the talk and then fail to back it up.

Let's not talk about home form being a problem anymore, until we've actually turned a corner and moved forward with a much more respectable home record.
 
Delighted Vinny's getting some games under his belt lately. Doesn't look like a player who has hardly played for a year.
