Agree. Didn't look at all comfortable on the ball.Thought his performance was rather rusty today. His defending was passable, his distribution was wayward, and he picked up a card for lunging in. It's clear to see that he's going to take time adapting and getting up to speed with the way Guardiola expects the defence to play. For him, it must be frustrating that he's having to gain fitness and experience in game time, having missed pre season, and his task is not made easier by the fact that we're now trying out different systems just as he makes his return.
Yeah... he'll manage a side in future... and they'll be hard to beat, 'cos he knows a thing or two about defending.Kompany is a rock in defense - our best defender by far. And able to play it from the back. And a great leader and loyal to our side.
But, injury, after injury, after injury... Unfortunately, I think that Kompany is more than likely done as a player - I hope I'm wrong.
If not, perhaps Kompany can move into a managerial position - he seems to be a leader and as a great player, can command respect.
