In terms of game time for the kid,its been less than ideal,but thats not on Pep,its on his ability coupled with the fact he's behind much better players in the pecking order.How Pep has personally managed him off the pitch,i would know,as none of us do - however he certainly doesnt look unhappy on training sequences,in interview,or when Pep has his arm around him post games.

As for Sané being awful before the Arsenal game, that's hilarious from a man of apparently such superior football knowledge. He'd had meaningful, (ie more than 5 minutes) appearances in 7 games before that, and looked brilliant against Everton (H), got an assist vs. Gladbach, Had a great game against Chelsea (H) and rescued the game for us vs. Southampton.
So at worst, he had 3 poor games at a new club on his way back from an injury that stopped him from having a preseason. And that's the guy you think got too many chances.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti Pep. I am a bit underwhelmed by what has happened so far but think there have been signs that things might be very good in the future but I also have concerns from the things we have seen this season. I just think there is an element of our support who have lost sight that there is even a possibility that things might not work out as we hope with him and some seem to think he is some kind of god. I quite like Pep but I'm a City supporter not a Pep supporter.Haha, at times we have played some brilliant stuff this season and at other times we have been piss poor or bang average for a whole variety of reasons. I think Pep should be credited for the plusses but i think its only fair that he can be held to account for his part in the dissapointments this season. He said so himself that he had made mistakes. This league is much harder and less forgiving than than LaLiga or the Bundesligue and our squad isnt as good Barcelona. That said i still think he could have done better in some areas, subs, style of play etc and and binning Kelechi off when chances are going begging is just one area I bet even he would have changed if he had had the last few months again. I hope and believe he will get more right next season.

I have to agree, there is alot to like about Pep the way he conducts himself in the media is exemplary and we have played some great stuff especially early on in the season. But I am very much in your boat. Im a City fan first and foremost and he should not be placed on a pedestal beyond all criticism. After all this a forum for disscussion and we are not all going to agree all the time.
Bazinga!Kelechi over the past 2 years has shown enough that he should be entitled to some game time, far more than he has been given. When I say this, I compare him to some others in the team that have put in a number of turd performances but keep being given chances. I love Sane, but lets not kid ourselves, he put in more dire performances in the 1st 6 months he was at the club than Kelechi has in 2 seasons, yet he wasn't just cast aside. Sterling was horrendous last season and continues to please and infuriate in equal measures this year but still gets chances in the side. KDB over the past couple of months has been distinctly average in a number of games. Don't even get me started on Navas. So there we have 4 attacking players who have had a mixed bag of a season, yet all continue to get regular game time. Kelechi on the other hand gets minimal time on the pitch no matter what he does when he is on it. Coincidentally he just so happens to be the one we didn't pay any money for.
I am not saying Kelechi should be replacing any of the above on a regular basis, but I am sick of our manager bemoaning our finishing time and time again and yet never turns to the guy on the bench who scores goals for fun.
Hopefully its a sale with buy back. For me this is the best way to deal with young players.
Kelechi is only 20. Has the killer goal scoring instinct but his all around game needs some more development. Hoffenheim would be great for him, they are currently third and will likely play Champions League next season. By buying, not loaning Hoffenheim have a much, much greater interest in the player. Kelechi would get a lot more minutes and will probably become a starter. After a season or two, if he is performing really well, we can buy him back at lets say 10m or so more than we sold him for. The best way to look at this is a development fee, he will getting game time that City can't even come close to giving him right now and will in turn be growing/maturing/progressing as a player. It is a really good investment.

Exactly, although I believe given our connections with Girona, we can successfully loan maybe 2 players there. Maffeo definitely and possibly even Garcia although there are indications Garcia may have a place in the squad. I think Girona would be a great place for P. Roberts to go to as well. He has really excelled at Celtic but I am skeptical if he can really challenge Sterling, Sane,etc. for a place right now. Sale and buyback would be great for Angelino and probably Unal who has been linked to B. Dortmund and Lazio recently both great clubs/leagues for him. We have many young players with a great amount of potential that are begging for consistent first team action. If we handle them properly we may see them become world class players and hopefully make it back into our first team.

They are 7 points clear of 3rd with 6 to go, top 2 are automatically promoted. They should make it comfortably, but even if results go their way it'll take another few weeks to be confirmed.
