Beastamendi today
Lol. Welcome to last year. Happy you finally made it.I thought he had a great game today, close to motm.
A lot of the headers he won & tackles/interceptions he made were under pressure & important rather than just numbers.
There is a partnership developing with him & VK which Stones will probably impede.
Lol. Welcome to last year. Happy you finally made it.
Otamendi heading the ball is like Dennis Rodman Rebounding. Neither are the tallest, strongest, most athletic or physically dominant. They just have a knack for finding the ball....
I'm happy you've finally taken off your haters lenses and seen the light. Welcome brother. We've been waiting for you :)
As i have mentioned many times, there is a huge difference between heading the ball compared to touching the ball with your head & not caring where it ends up, or making ridiculous attempts to win headers you can't get near, whilst leaving a huge hole behind & also a huge difference between doing it in key areas or under intense pressure, rather than nodding easy headers v no challenge or midgets.
Today a lot of Otamendi's work was in the right areas & under quite heavy challenge, the kind of situations he sometimes does what Palace defender did when he 'won' the aerial duel to set up Silva for his goal. Today Otamendi won proper duels v good aerial players, or sometimes just let them have it & covered.
he is playing with much more intelligence since Kompany has come back, largely imo because Kompany shouts at everyone & gives him a specific role, rather than just every man for himself.
Otamendi has now played several solid games, without making any unacceptable mistakes. For the first time since he arrived.
