Theresa May ‘tells ministers to prepare for HARD BREXIT in MAJOR warning to Brussels’
Is that her own words or a headline?
First result off google.
Doesn't everyone now use the terms 'hard' and 'soft' now?

I think they do mate to be honest as its become almost official language but i just dont get it.
EU rules state you are either in or out with no middle ground to be found so given the vote to leave, we are out, end of with no soft or hard anywhere to be seen.
Like I said its been invented to muddy and cloud the waters and to be used as a stick to beat people with.
Well done - very sensible.Theresa May ‘tells ministers to prepare for HARD BREXIT in MAJOR warning to Brussels’
Thank god for that then, exactly what we voted for in the first place.Theresa May ‘tells ministers to prepare for HARD BREXIT in MAJOR warning to Brussels’
Have not bothered listening to the tweet but I was thinking this morning how very worrying the latest development are if you are of the Remain and Labour persuasion
Not only are the polls showing a shift in sentiment but May seems to be doing what a few of us have been suggesting - moving towards the centre as Labour move further Left.
Essentially she is stealing Labour's clothes - or ripping off their more popular policies - pretty smart (if frustrating) you must surely admit?

She is a career politician who will adopt any stance to secure/keep power.
Her views on the EU are a good example. If the public veered back the other way she would veer right along with them.
Strong & stable - yeah right !
Like she did with fox hunting? She is a career politician who will adopt any stance to secure/keep power.

I fully understand - I did recognise that it must be very frustrating for those in the 'other camp'She is a career politician who will adopt any stance to secure/keep power.

But if you look at it objectively you can surely admit that it is a smart play - yes?
The opposition parties want to land a blow - as weeks go by and polling day draws closer - it increasingly needs to be a knock out blow.
She has no need to lead with her chin and is just frustrating them by staying out of reach
Brexit means Brexit.
At what point will the remainer's who invented the terms, hard and soft in an attempt to still get what they wanted pack it the fuck in and accept we are leaving, end of?
Its laughable as they use the term "hard" to bash anyone with.
You've got to stop fixating on me, it's unhealthy.
I again fully understand - and whilst clearly a total supporter of leaving the EU I am not without a good deal of trepidation. I would suggest that anyone that isn't is not thinking straight.Agree she is being very smart for herself and her party. It remains to be seen whether it's smart for the country
Sadly the British public lap up the sort of shit she is shoveling. I call it shit because, as you rightly say, she isn't actually telling us anything very much about what she and her government will actually do. In fact, again as you rightly point out, she is going to great lengths to keep any discussion on actual policies to an absolute minimum.
So yes she is being smart about her own self interest. I look forward to reading how smart she is in 2 or 3 years times. I think that could be fascinating.
What term will the Leavers use if, down the line, May starts wavering during the negotiations? If she decides that the best deal on the table is actually better than "no deal"?

Where I differ with some on here though is that we are where we are. It seems that we are beyond the point where the Remain stalwarts are going to succeed in unpicking the decision to leave. If May does get a majority of > 40 then that is it - we are leaving.
There are indeed substantial risks to be overcome against a strong team that are used to steamrolling the opposition.
So we really should be all getting behind the team - we have had our disagreements on the pre-match thread - even argued about formations and tactics. We may end up rejoicing or throwing pelters on the post-match thread - but during the negotiating period (match) we should all get behind the OUR team
