I have a feeling he will push for two years.

He won't get the money and maybe club he wants if he was to be released next season at 35.

He will want guarantee's for a few seasons I feel

I hope the rumours are true. He's earned a new contract this year. Has the ability to help us see out games, he's one of, if not the best passer in the squad (particularly that forward pass that starts our attacks), plenty of top level experience, solid penalty taker and loves the big occasion. Obviously his role will be reduced (although he has deserved his starting XI spot this year) but can't argue with the upsides of having him as a squad player.

Well lets hope yaya signs a new deal because he will go off into the sunset without a goodbye because city said they have nothing planned.

Does he want to be a squad player as well as take a huge pay-cut though?

He could go to a West Ham, play every week, earn 100k a week on a possible 2 year contract whilst also having that wage boosted by a signing on fee.

He either chooses loyalty to City but at the expense of cutting his salary significantly whilst not playing week in week out, or he goes to a lesser positioned team, play week in week out and earn more than he would do at City whilst also be given a possible 2 year deal instead of one.

I wouldn't mind if he stays but I feel he will want guarantee's.

Stays at City he still gets £100k or thereabouts, still gets to be involved in the Champions League, still gets to challenge for trophies and being a squad player at City would still mean he plays the same amount of games as he would starting for West Ham. I think it's a no brainer he stays if he's offered a new contract.

It isn't the worst of decisions. When Yaya got back into the fold he had performed well enough. If both the club and Yaya are happy with the terms then you can't ask for anything more.

I rate Yaya. And if he is to stay another year as a squad player, great. If he goes we say goodbye to one of the best midfielders I've seen in a blue shirt. I hope he stays another year.

But I'm also pretty sure without Gungogan being injured Yaya's situation would look somewhat differently. And I expect a fit Gundogan next year will limited Yaya his minutes on the pitch.

what an absolutely imperious footballer. The way he controls the pace in the middle and knits together defence and attack is wonderful, the man's abilities should not be understated.

I'm very happy we can keep him on if he can continue as he did tonight. We need a bit more time i feel to find another very high standard central mid that can balance our team like he does.

Blast from the past with that goal but yet again he gives us absolute control of the game.

Give him a 2 year deal if we have to.

Did anyone doubt when he got the ball back from Sergio that he would score?

117 passes tonight and he only played 80 mins, that is running the game.

City would be mental to let him go.

We need Yaya in games like that, where you know the opposition are going to sit deep and try and steal a goal. Given space and time he is master of quick accurate passes, always probing for a space, a genuine asset.

Against a team which is going to press us high up the pitch, play in our face, he isn't a first choice imo.

To let him go would be daft, just need to make sure he sticks to his diet. Gets his cake and we still have a great player. Beautiful to watch , just need one more midfielder to complement him and fern, as well ad rotate with Gundi when he comes back.

Completely bossed it tonight.

Please keep yaya, please!

If he's not staying, I hope he looks at last night's reception for Zabba and realises what he could have had if only he had shut that agent up.

Yaya> Fernandinho> Gundogan> Delph> Fernando

Gundogan and Delph has fitness issue, they get injured alot and Fernanado is good defensively only.
