Fernandinho isn't like that for me because whilst he is efficient at what he does, his goal threat and creativity are virtually zero.

If we can find another Yaya Toure but 7 years younger then we have hit the jackpot.

Call me overdramatic but I don't think we'll ever see another Yaya Touré. He's one of a kind.

Sadly. He has been absolutely pivotal to everything we have achieved. I think he has been in with a shout of Man of the match in 4 of our last 5 games and certainly in the top 3/4 players.

A lot of people have said a lot of things about Yaya. His agent has said some daft things and he let himself get overweight in the two years previous to this one...but all that aside I love the player, he is still (now he's fit) a brilliant footballer and is arguably the third, second or most important player in City's entire history!

His best is well behind him but I'm so glad he's still here and I hope he ends his career with us on a high rather than with a sour note it may have ended like had he gone after the cake saga or last Summer.

"So before he breaks away and he scores
Oh Yaya Touré I think we pay you just the right amount" ;)

Completely agree with this. Yaya has probably had the biggest impact of any player we've signed, and I don't think we'd have won what we have recently without him. He's awesome, an utterly superb player who can look a class above anyone else on the pitch on both sides.

It was sad to see his dickhead agent come out with all the shit he has and turn some fans against arguably our greatest ever player.

I'm glad he's back in the fold and playing some of his best football again; long may it continue.

Fingers crossed he's saved a few of those unstoppable charges for the odd big game yet. I'd love to see him roast pass the saviour Carrick and bury one again..

Long gone are the lung bursting runs and 25 yard screamers and games where he dominated the opposition with brute force and power.
What we have now is a clever holding midfielder with a lovely touch great eye for a pass and set piece with a strong physical pressence a completely different player who has reinvented himself and the fulcrum of our midfield and one who has to be given at least another year or poss two as soon as poss

It’s rare these days that you’ll see players like Steven Gerrard, ones that come through at a club and captain the side to success and turn down opportunities to move elsewhere.

Yes there have been times with Yaya where you can’t help but be frustrated, but that’s been off the pitch and largely down to his agent. He’s had incredible success before he joined the club but he truly has been one of the best midfielders seen in Europe. He’s been able to slot in at centre back in a CL final with Barca, he’s played a defensive role there under Pep and then excelled as a box to box player for us, scoring so many goals. For someone who can control a game and keep the ball moving, to score so many shows how outstanding he is. Lampard scored bags of goals for Chelsea but couldn’t pass the ball like Yaya. Gerrard gets so much credit for carrying Liverpool and Yaya’s done that for us – the FA Cup final against Stoke. That cracker in the league cup final against Sunderland. The two goals against Newcastle away, that cracker at Palace and the tens of others he has scored whilst also being able to keep the ball all day long with composure I don’t think Gerrard is capable of. Gerrard lost his pace and energy and dropped off quite quickly. He was never particularly good in that deep role as seen with England’s pathetic world cup display with him in the side. Yaya is showing just how good he is by excelling in the deep role as if he’s that same player he was at Barca.
