Pep was full of praise for Sergio after the match.
When interviewed he was asked about Gabriel Jesus but quickly moved on to praising Sergio for his display. He said although he didn't score his link up play was excellent.
That display may have convinced him to stick with him.

Somewhat of an exaggeration against a WBA team who were there for the taking. We should really be asking ourselves why the centre-forward could not score against a team who were dead at 2-0.
Eh?

Our (my) biggest criticism of him is that he hasn't been challenged, and hasn't shown enough 'team' play. Now with GJ around both of these have happened and he's responded really well.

Damned if he doesn, damned if he doesn't for some people it seems.

I'm gonna guess you're on the wind up mate.
Either that, or you have simply no clue about the game
This isn't under 9's.
Did he score? That's his job. He played down the middle against a WBA team who were dead after half an hour, but it was the wide forwards jesus and Sane who looked likelier t score.

I didn't say Aguero played poorly, but the forwards who caused WBA the most problems were Sane and Jesus.

MOTM performance last night. Would be madness to sell. I don't think any other club would contemplate selling him and I don't think we will either.

Scenario 1:
"Aguero's not playing well"
"But he scores goals"

Scenario 2:
"Aguero couldn't score against West Brom"
"But he played well"

Is it really too much to expect a world class player to play well AND score goals?

I agree with you. I was just reacting to a topic which I thought was a bit OTT about Aguero when the chief attacking threats for City last night were Jesus and Sane. It was Sane who again and again cut through WBA's defence and if he had taken his chances he could have had 2 or 3 goals.

False. It is not his job, in the limited way that it has been for the past six years. That's the whole point.

Quite simply, Sergio astounded me. It was a new Sergio – Sergio the playmaker! I didn't know he could do that.
Rubbing my hands for next season. Sergio and Gabi? And Sané? And Sterling?? Terrifying…

I can only refer you to the previous 'Jesus fucking jumped up Christ'

You love to be the contrary one don't you Marvin. Even though it constantly makes you look foolish.

You manage to watch your recording yet?

Great performance.

I think it amplifies Peps view though. That was a performance for the team. That bit of selfnishnes gone and replaced with a really rounded performance. Signs of a partnership between him and Jesus.

He's going to have to deliver that every week if he stays.

Kun was magnificent, as were all our attacking players to be fair.
His 2 flicks for the goals were top top notch.
They cant all score in every game, would be nice if they did mind!
Its a TEAM game and if Kun had 2 assists every game and never scored a goal all year i wouldnt give a shit as long as the TEAM wins and he played his part.

It was WBA. We won. That's the main thing. But it's his job to score goals and he didn't. Jesus was moved wide, and Sterling dropped. You could speculate whether we would have been better off with Sterling out wide and Jesus down the middle.

We now have two goal scorers and have someone who can put pressure on Aguero to up his game.

Oh, and had Jesus looked up and put it on a plate for Sergio when he forced the double save he'd have got the goal that a couple think he needs in order to have played well.
