I said in another topic that there were signs of a partnership between jesus and Aguero but for me the stand out performers in City's forward line are the returning Jesus and Sane. Many teams really struggle to cut through packed defences like WBA but Sane can beat them one on one. He just needs to improve his finishing

Wait a minute, West Brom are renown for playing very defensively and spent the game with 8/9 player at the back. The fact it was Sergio who unlocked that set up on three occasions should tell you what you need to know.It was WBA. We won. That's the main thing. But it's his job to score goals and he didn't. Jesus was moved wide, and Sterling dropped. You could speculate whether we would have been better off with Sterling out wide and Jesus down the middle.
We now have two goal scorers and have someone who can put pressure on Aguero to up his game.

Aguero's backheel to De Bruyne to set up Jesus's (tap in) goal was fantastic. He also played a neat one two for Yaya's goal. To have a future at city Aguero has needs to show he can make a significant contribution outside of the 6 yard box and he did that last night.
Especially against a team like WBA. I had a niggling regret going home after the game and that was at 2-0, we should have gone on to win that game 4 or 5 nil and killed off Liverpool and Arsenal's chances of catching us on goal differenceScenario 1:

Sanchez' stats are incredible. That is where Aguero should be.
He deserved a goal last night, but he didn't get it and like I said earlier, that performance only reinforced what pep is trying to prove.

So happy with his performance last night. I always try and look at things from another point of view, but it utterly baffles me how any City fan can feel anything other than unconditional love for this guy. He's top drawer and since he arrived has never once indicated anything other than he unequivocally wants to play for this club throughout his peak years. That is something that some posters conspicuously fail to respect.
Marvin the font of all knowledge when it comes to football :) WBA didnt have a player under 6'2" and all big units sitting behind the ball. Sometimes you have to appreciate there is more to the game than scoring. His play last night was superb and helped bring others in to the game, as you mention Sane he was set up beautifully in the 1st half by Sergio and should have buried it

Last night, apart from getting a goal, was as well as I've seen him play and if fit perfectly into what Pep is expecting from his strikers.

Only on this forum could you be accused of sentimentality when it comes to Aguero. A player who's been recognised as WC for the last 6 years by pretty much everybody involved in the game.
We like him because he's a fucking great player. The fact he's an amazing ambassador for the club is just a bonus.

That is a such a simple take on it.
So I'll tell you what he needs to eradicate. He is selfish. Quite often doesn't play for the team and Pep has identified that.

Criticism was that he was too selfish and took too many touches, now he is playing one touch passes where before he may have turned and gone alone.unselfish todayPep was full of praise for Sergio after the match.
When interviewed he was asked about Gabriel Jesus but quickly moved on to praising Sergio for his display. He said although he didn't score his link up play was excellent.
That display may have convinced him to stick with him.
Well if the system is going to be similar to last night but with much improved fullbacks then I'd say the answer is a resounding yes.People need to be objective when looking at him. Ask yourself does he fit into the system and will he next year??

But Sane didn't score either do your point is crapI agree with you. I was just reacting to a topic which I thought was a bit OTT about Aguero when the chief attacking threats for City last night were Jesus and Sane. It was Sane who again and again cut through WBA's defence and if he had taken his chances he could have had 2 or 3 goals.
