It's Quiet - a new dawn

Can anyone explain why a team like Monaco are selling so many players ?

It's Monaco's modus operandi. They sell high on talent and replace it with cheaper potential, repeat again in a few years. Think Dortmund. They tried to be a buying club like PSG, but found it too difficult to compete. Taking this route has been far more successful, and profitable, in the long run.

Evidently they have a fantastic scouting network, so why not cash in?

It wouldn't be the biggest surprise to see Tielemans moving for an bigger fee this time next year.

New business model, I'd wager. Get great youth, sell them on for huge profits.
I can't imagine they make a lot of money otherwise, barring the Champions League cash.
French football is nowhere near England money wise, and they've got a very low attendances/not much of a potential fanbase locally.

I think to cash in while they are at their highest value. Their chairman said something about not fighting 'the market'. I think they have cover in a few areas too. Just bought Tielemans for less than we'll get Fabinho.

Ok cheers fellas can't wait for our defence to be shaped up this week including a new keeper hopefully.

*Big competition for the center forward role. If Jesus gets back to his pre-injury form and Sergio continues next season from where he left off i.e. nigh unplayable at times then it would be very hard deciding who starts. There'll be plenty matches for everyone I reckon
*Don't know if it's just me but the more I look at our latest signing the more I think Pep is trying to make him our Iniesta whilst making having Merlin as our Xavi. Lots of people are thinking he will compete with Sterling in our starting 11 but I suspect KDB would be the one in competition with Silva more than anyone else. This is basically the role Isco would have played for us had he agreed to join but he can well rot in Madrid's bench now. That said I still believe there'd be opportunity for all to have good play time problem is they are superstars and would all want to their names on the starting list week in week out.
*I wouldn't complain if we get Pepe on a Bosman and have Stones, Otto and Kolo as back ups.
*This would be my perfect window what about you?

Two front threes:

Sane - Aguero - Sterling

De Bruyne - Jesus - Bernardo

If we bring in Mendy, Walker and Bonucci and address the goalkeeper situation, we'll be stacked in every position

Silva signed. Expect Mendy from Monaco to also come in in the next week. Rumours that there'll actually be up to 4 players announced in the next week. Lots of speculation as to who they could be. I'm guessing Pickford, Fabinho, Mendy, to go along with Silva.
Kyle Walker & Pickford

Lol even though its been confirmed that Ederson will be signed next week!?
Ederson 100% would be my choice but hearing lots about Pickford??

For some reason Pep keeping Bravo but would he play No 2 to Ederson or vice Versa????

Pickford would play second fiddle to either Bravo or Ederson

Not sure mate but Tolmie confirmed this afternoon that ederson was done and sam lee from goal who is well sourced at city stated that Ederson will be signed early next week as well for a world record fee for a keeper

You've missed a lot, mate.

@tolmie's hairdoo was right, Mendes did some big work for us. Several sources in Portugal (including A Bola) and England (notably MEN and Sammy Lee) confirming Ederson is next up, this week coming.

Does anyone else feel Pep sees Bernardo Silva as a number 8 ( like KDB and Merlin) because if that's the case we will definitely go for a forward.

I think he's capable of playing as an 8 or as a right winger. He gives us a great option in the middle so we won't have as big a drop off when David Silva is out.

But personally I see him being mainly used as a right winger. With Navas leaving, there was really no competition for Sterling on the right and Bernado provides that, and I'd expect him to start the season as the first choice right winger.

If as seems likely we get Ederson i dont see Bravo being a number 2 and think he will be moved on with Gunn moving up as understudy.
