I don't think we should go for him imo, he's right footed and having two right footed CBs would be horrible, also another reason is his age he's going to be 26 next year I feel like we should look for u24 cbs. Still think we should wait it out for Lucas Hernandez
We can still bring in Lucas next summer. Pep will wants a young left footed CB I believe. IF Otamendi leaves, I wouldn't be surprised if we sign a lefty CB in this window also. VVD, Stones, Kompany and ? (I can't see another season with Kola. what if we face injuries again next season and we are saying to ourselves what a massive error it was to have no depth and now Kola is 1st team)

No way, VVD everyday. Since when is 26 old?

He's played Left sided CB plenty of times lots of teams have two right footed centre backs without looking horrible.
We usually give a max of 6 years as a contract by which time he will be 31 nearly 32 that is still prime age for most centre backs.

This.

And this.

Evening all, am on a quick break at center parks in Penrith and a dipper fan here reckons city are signing VVD this week!?? Said he was gutted as they were desperate for him.

I hope your right.....I txt this to mate who works at staplewood and he offered me his seat for City game next season if VVD signs for anyone this week.

I remember him hitting the bar for Southampton against us a couple of years ago. Did a great body faint to gain the yard and great shot from outside the area. It was great skill for a CB.

I think we should sign him as long as we sign two or three quality fullbacks and as long as VVD wouldn't affect our other targets, I couldn't care less if we spent 400m this summer as long as it doesn't put us in any violation with FFP, if the owner wants to spend I'm all for it, I love reading about how Liverpool fans think they are going to sign 3 or 4 players that break their transfer record in one window (not to mention desteoyimg their apparent stringent wage structure). Delusion is quite comical and I really enjoy them, the rags with Griezmann, and the Arsenal fans actually getting their hopes up that Arsne is gonna buy Mbappe, will be a very entertaining summer tracking the meltdowns

This is a possible PL game changer deal.

Not only because it would pair VVD alongside kompany(and Stones in the future), but it will show the other PL clubs our pulling power and status.

For VVD to pick us over Chelsea, the PL champions, and Liverpool, and their #istory, the guff that goes with that, and their self-rightous fans, would be a massive statement of intent, not only for City, but to the other PL clubs.

This deal and the Sanchez deal would send shockwaves through the boardrooms of the other PL clubs.

Agreed JRB. I think pep has really enforced to the board that they talk about wanting to win champions leagues, be in a par with Real Madrid and Barca etc but we are nowhere near the quality in players required to do it so in a sense either put up or shut up?
