It's Quiet - a new dawn

To whom?
If we do, the club would think otherwise- no?

I was using it as an example, to someone who said keeping Otamendi if we sign a cb, doesn't make financial sense. No it doesn't but I don't care.

It doesn't make 'financial sense' to buy fullbacks for 40 mil, or spend 50 mil on Sanchez when he's free next year, the transfer market has gone mad & no transfers make 'financial sense', they are just all willing to buy players for loads of money, & some deals are better than others, all are stupid money, but it's not my problem.

I don't give actually give a flying fuck about it & have no interest in discussing it either way, it's up to the club. I was talking in context of one comment.

I hope that covers all the boxes so no one else will mither me to talk about it, as I don't care.

I like your pure footballing posts more. You know a lot about tactics and different players mate.

I haven't made any detailed points points about player costs, just people keep mithering me to do so, when I was using it as an example for something else. I'm not that arsed.

But I figured everyone realised that all transfers & wages were too expensive & am realising perhaps I'm wrong & they enjoy paying 800 quid for a season ticket.

Oh come on, you cannot believe season tickets would be £100 cheaper if we spent £30m on Walker instead of £45m.

The difference would either go to players through wages or the club, it would not go back to fans. The days of gate receipts paying wages and transfer fees are long, long gone. It represents, what, 10% of our revenue? it's largely insignificant, and yet we know ticket prices won't go down no matter how much money we have or make.

People seemed to care enough about the price in the Van Dijk thread. I am of the mind that the market is the way it is and you pay what you need to get who you need but it does seem to me that people don't think that is the case when it comes to signing a centre back or indeed the financial hit we might have to take if we let one of our average centre backs go to open up a space for a decent one.

Now i wish it was quiet (in this thread)

No updates i guess if we are on bickering...

yeah the quiet is sending everyone bonkers mate! I do possibly think that players yearly contracts running until 30th june has something to do with non deals? the loyalty payments maybe?

Fucking hell. I'm not talking about Walker there. That was a point about spending IN FOOTBALL being over the top. That's all.

Jesus Christ. I know it costs money to sign players, FOR ALL CLUBS.

You are the person I answered when I used Walker as an example of clubs/City spending money, to strengthen squads. You mentioned finance, not me.

I DON'T CARE ABOUT WALKER. You brought up the money aspect, of next season's squad,. I was talking purely about places & homegrown v foreign etc.

You said the club wouldn't sign a new cb & keep Otamendi as it would devalue him & wouldn't make 'financial sense'.

I said spending more than 20 mil on a fullback doesn't make 'financial sense' meaning NOTHING DOES, but strengthening the squad is what they care about, so they will do it if required.

So, my point was EVERYBODY NOTE: City are not going to care about losing a few quid on Otamendi devaluing, if they keep him, if they think he improves the squad, same as they will spend money on Walker, who will also devalue, immediately.

It doesn't matter. It's about strengthening the squad.

I was answering your point, on finance, not making one.

It's like Twin fucking Peaks in here. I'll say it backwards then people might get it.
