I don't understand why you lot have to have a tantrum every time you sell, ever thought players you are buying may be missed by the fans of their club ?

No one wants to lose their best players, thats normal by football fans. Although a lot of the stars that have left us were not stars before they came to us. Or we got them from giant clubs in europe that didnt want them.

As fans the second a player or manager says he wants away, personally im all for putting them on the first fucking plane mate!

The club is always bigger than one individual.

Your anger here needs to be addressed at your board and not the lad who is just wanting to win things and he feels he will do that with Pep and at City.

Trophies in the cabinet mean nothing. It's all about today. Otherwise he'd join Nottingham forest, they have two big shiny cups in their cabinet. So ok which club right now is most likely to have a that shiny trophy in their cabinet? Fucking bingo.
You are has been. With 20 years of dominance,20 years of mega money in a closed shop,20 years with only one rival,You managed one solitary final.
Seriously I wouldn't come on here playing the Billy big bollocks with that record.

Yes but if I said that in Sanchez arsenal career, hes won more than Man city, I get accused to stirring trouble, Im only mentioning Sanchez specifically because this is his thread, and his sale, I can understand why Sanchez would want to join you because you have CL, you have Pep (arguably the best manager in the world), and you have better players than us, I just took issue with the "team that wins more trophies", because thats not fact.

When was your last Premier League win? When do you think your next might be? I think these are the questions that will most concern Sanchez

I totally agree with that, Its our lack of ambition in recent years that have pushed Sanchez into this position, although if it wasnt for Pep hed never want to join Man city because youve won practically nothing in recent years either, even less than Arsenal. I think this summer we are showing the ambition we should have shown for the last 4 years but only because weve dropped out of the top 4, and its come too late for Sanchez and I cant blame him.
I would sell him for 80m to City, for 50m abroad, and be equally happy to see him play one more season for us. I think these are good parameters set by the club, if City really want him theyll pay the 80m, we are not standing in his way, the ball is in city's court now, he can see how much the likes of Lukaku are costing, if Sanchez had a long contract , hed be worth over 100m in this market.

Since 2011, we've won everything domestically, including 2 league titles, 2 league cups and an FA cup.

Since 2011, Arsenal have won 3 FA cups and have only finished above us once in the league during that time.

Should we have achieved more? Absolutely. But I don't think there's any question about who has been more successful in 'recent times'. Find a new excuse.

So the Arsenal fans on here are slowly coming round to at least thinking the thought that Sanchez may leave and come to City. Now they just have to come to terms with not getting 80 million for him. There is development my friends. They are thick and deluded but they do learn.

Totally agree with you here, no one knows their own club better than their own fans, and no matter how critical you are about Arsenal here, Im 10 times more damming.
In the same way, what you see as me being critical of City, Im sure if i go into your own club thread ill see much more critical views of your own team.
I think people get offended more by who is delivering the message, than by the message, Im not here to offend any city fan, Im glad city are around because our own ineptness would have meant more titles for chelsea and united, and even one for Liverpool. So your arrival has come at the right time to soften the blow of us being useless, but in the last 3 years, youre not at that level anymore. You can stop us getting into the top 4, but cant stop chelsea walking away with titles. Sanchez will be joining a team that used to win things. Thats all I said.

I cant argue with any of these points, but your performance in the league, in Cl against Monaco, or losing to us in the cup is hardly an endorsement of him to move.
You are more appealing than us, youre better, and have CL. But its hardly a "we are not rivals, what are they on about" scenario, you finished below spurs last season, you have a lot of work to do, it wont be guaranteed trophies for Sanchez.
I am not wondering why he wants to leave us, he gave his best, and never let us down, in some ways we let him down, but Pep is far more appealing to him than city, thats all im saying. Had Pep gone to United or Chelsea, hed want to go there.
Most of that is true, but I do think Arsenal have dropped significantly in the last 4 or 5 years. City are re-building but look like we're close to having a team capable of challenging for titles again whilst Arsenal are fighting rear-guard battles instead of getting on with re-building. Sanchez's reported decision is entirely understandable. I think Wenger has to decide now whether he's going to look forwards or backwards.

Hey Marvin. Good post!

No, no, no. 'Recent success' is only counted from the point that Arsenal actually won something. Otherwise it's not fair on them.

We're in a much better position to win the league and have been for a long time and we're in a much better position to win the Champions League because... well, we're in it.

If Sanchez was happy with a couple of poxy FA and League Cups then I'm sure he'd sign a nice long term contract with Arsenal.

Leciester won the league after the last time you did, I dont see Sanchez going there, the second part of your question is bang on, he obviously feels hes more likely to win the league at City than at Arsenal, I feel the same so i wont argue there, it just hasnt happened, cant be celebrating winning titles before they happen.
Again not arguing about why Sanchez wants to go, nor did I compare Arsenal to city, until repeated posters mentioned stoke everton and trophies, so I thought ill post some facts.

1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance

Things are picking up pace, it seems.

I wouldn't argue with that but then separating clubs from their manager is a bit odd, Pep is our manager and whilst he is, we are that package of Pep and City. I don't really see it as different from any other club because all clubs to some extent are temporarily defined by the manager they have apart from perhaps the true super clubs like Barca and Real. There was a time when players (especially some great French players) went to Arsenal almost entirely because wenger was manager and because at the time he had such a great reputation around Europe, so what? We may or may not have been able to specifically attract Sanchez if we didn't have Pep, who knows, we have plenty of other reasons why very good players fancy joining us same as the other clubs who have been competing for major trophies in recent years but it's all irrelevant anyway because we do have Pep and we were the club who were able to attract literally the most sought after manager in world football in the first place.

We didnt win a thing between 2005 and 2014, so the drop has been happening for some times, in terms of trophies we have picked up a little in the last few years but not enough for a "big club". I think we should have acted before, waiting to be outside the top 4 before acting is a wrong move and its seemingly cost us sanchez. We have a lot of issues, this is a big season , for wenger, and the owners. I think we are doing the right moves now but we have a long way to go . City are nearly there I agree, but every pre season I predict city to win the league, your squad is always outstanding on paper, then you win 5 in a row playing amazing football, and everyone thinks well thats that, then you lose to Spurs and never recover again.

The context used that by "nothing in recent years either, even less than Arsenal" means that he's referencing the period since 2014-15 during which time Arsenal have won 2 FA Cups and City have won 1 League Cup. It is factual even if a bit forced.
Hence the use of the term subjective length to suit his agenda

That's a good post too.

So 'IF' true, we're offering 50, they want 80 = £65M done deal. I'd settle for that :-)
