Alexis Sanchez

Good post.

People need to open their eyes. No way Sanchez is staying if he doesn't sign a new deal and he has made it clear he wants to play in the Champions league. TBH wasn't expecting such a comment from him that early.

We are speaking about one of the most risk averse clubs in the world. Sanchez didn't even get them top 4 this season and they're going to gamble on him getting them top 4 next season, no chance.

Wenger is delusional. He doesn't mind embarrassing himself and has done so plenty of times in the past as pointed out in the article above. Not to mention all the players he "almost" signed like Kante, Big nose, Lukaku, Yaya and a host of other ridiculous players. This man was once a top manager and now is a joke.

Fully expecting to see Sanchez holding up the number 9 shirt by the end of the window.

Every club needs money it's what football is built on these days so I don't get the "we don't need the money" chatter. Keeping a £50/60 million asset who can leave in 9 months time for free is not a good business model even Real aren't that stupid.

I think it'll happen now... be right before the window closes though.

It's in everyone's best interest to get it done now. Arsenal need to get a replacement in and it'd be harder the longer they wait. Sell us Sanchez, bring in Lemar or Mahrez and tbh along with Lacazette they are probably better off long term.

I bet the deal you are offering has a bigger agents fee than ours. Agents are always trying to engineer moves, it's when they make the most of their cash. Look at Anelka's brother. He used to take the piss out of Nicholas, touting him here there and everywhere. The agent said Sanchez wanted 275k a week, after a while we relented and offered it to him, then all of a sudden it went up to 400k while Alexis was in Russia playing in the confed cup to force a move. Make no mistake, all agents put themselves before their clients.

Often true with agents, although there are some good ones.

Firstly, to some extent I do hear you, money is playing a factor here.

That said, do you genuinely think that footballing reasons have nothing to do with it? Sanchez's reaction vs. the rest of the Arsenal team at 3-3 vs Bournemouth was revealing. Year after year we see the same thing from Arsenal: every time they look like doing something in the league they bottle it, every year when the CL gets to knock out they're straight out. It's like clockwork. I think it's way too easy to blame players and agents for 'greed'. Arsenal have accepted being second best on the pitch for too long and a lack of belief is part of the culture in the squad now.

It may drag on in order to allow Arsenal to bring in replacements without clubs being aware they've made a mint from selling Sanchez.

Arsene has often said a player isn't for sale. Generally they always have been sold.

Look at if from Sanchez's point of view – there's a team who's owner is hungry for Champion's League success and is prepared to invest heavily to make that dream a reality.... and then there's Arsenal!

They're running out of time to sign a replacement though. As we head into August we're getting towards the point where clubs just say no to transfers because they can't find a replacement in time.

True all about the money
Arsenal miss out on CL again and lose out in £40m in income and that's a bottom figure
Can effect there income from sponsorship and will have to pay more for transfers with not being in the CL
That's why arsenal can turn down the money from a Sanchez transfer deal, it's a gamble by wenger

His agent could get the fees from Bayern or PSG, you know, the clubs you are trying to force him to go to against his wishes, but Alexis is pricing himself out of a move. If this was about money, Sanchez would stay at Arsenal for 12 months and then pocket the majority of £50m because of the lack of transfer fee. I expect this scenario is very appealing to any agent. Sanchez is trying to get away now, therefore I think it is fair to say that Alexis has complete control over his agent and therefore his future. The fact is, he makes far more money if he stays at Arsenal but as another poster stated above, that doesn't fit with the "They only go to City for the money" narrative.

Its obvious that Sanchez only wants to play at City this season.
He's basically priced himself out of moves to Bayan Munich & PSG by demanding 500,00 PW. Once he returns to preseason training & makes it quite clear that he wants out then Wenger may feel that its better to move him on.

Interesting quote also from Pep concerning Kolarov saying that he didn't want to work with players who didn't want to stay. I wonder if that was aimed at Wenger over the Sanchez situation.

If they had had the safety blanket of CL revenue for this coming season then Id say the deal would be dead in the water-not a cat in hell's chance they will ignore a £50m sale with the loss of £30-40m in CL revenue.

Wenger's hoping we move onto the next target and leave Sanchez with no choice but to renew-Its who blinks first on this one and Wenger's hand isn't really that strong.

What I don't get is that the Arsenal fans on here are all questioning Sanchez's desire - saying he's sulking and seen his arse, because he wants the move – yet they all say the club will not let him leave and they seem to think Sanchez will think that's ok and put his heart into playing for them again!

Just been reading, Wenger says Sanchez hasn't asked to leave maybe that will change the landscape mate.

Fickle football fan syndrome mate haha

I still dont think we need Sanchez, we have enough firepower up front and tbh his attitude has been shite towards Arsenal, we dont need that at City

Pissed off with his team mates for not pulling their weight and not afraid to let them know, we could use a bit of that.
