Samir Nasri

Amazing how many chances some people want to give him. All the talent in the world, but he's available and no one wants him. For a reason. Complete shit house of a player, everyone has a go at Mario for wasting his talent yet somehow Nasri just needs one more chance and the right manager. They are in exactly the same boat as far as I'm concerned.

It's like people just forget what he's like and only remember the handful of games where he gave it his best and actually made things happen.

Don't get me wrong guys, I thought he did really well when he came on yesterday, it just saddens me when they have that kind of talent and don't make the best of it.

.....and of course never a big fan of shithouses who turn their back in a wall on derby day. Also the same reason I don't like Boateng either, and wouldn't want him back, shithouse when he played for us shirking tackles.
And there we have it.....

Your view of Nasri isn't totally objective, it's rooted in 'You're never a big fan of shithouses who turn their back in a wall on derby day.'

What has this to do with Nasri here and now?

It has fuck all to do with the derby and everything to do with him being a complete shit house, all the time.

Unless he plays in a deeper role, it's difficult to see how he'll get any playing time considering the array of attacking options we have.

If, as suspected, we sign another attacker/forward, our main options in midfield and attack will be the following:

Gundogan
Fernandinho
Yaya
B Silva
D Silva
De Bruyne
Sane
Sterling
Sanchez/Mbappe/someone else
Jesus
Aguero

With this in mind, it's hard to see Nasri even making the bench on most occasions next season.

Correct. There is a reason Pep wanted him to stay last season. We had Silva and KDB. Now that we have Bernardo Silva too. There simply isn't space for him. No matter how much he impresses in pre-season.

If Mangala goes we will bring a cb/ lb cover in. That takes us to 16 even with Fernando gone the only way Nasri can stay is if Sanchez doesn't come in. Other than that he could stay just for the p/l squad, and play a handful of games, why would he want that and how does it give us value for his wages, I'd prefer Foden or Diaz to get those games Nasri would get.
Having watched Foden & Diaz they're certainly talents, but they are far from ready for regular week in week out man football whilst Nasri is. There are other players I've outlined who are surplus to requirements and the main stumbling block for English places seems to be the Champions League, so here's one for you....

Nasri plays in the Premier League, Capital One Cup & FA Cup and the other players can play in those as well as the CL. This was Yaya's take it or leave it last season and he took it and hasn't looked back or opened his gob since. Simples

He does the same thing every time. He starts out looking up for it, everyone gets excited about how he's changed, then after a bit when things get tough he becomes Samir Nasri again. He did it under Mancini, he did it under Pellegrini, then he did it at Sevilla. No idea why people think he's going to be any different under Pep. People don't change, Nasri is a shit house and always will be

All the talent in the world, but he's available and no one wants him.

Seems quite a few City fans 'want him'?

IMO if Pep thinks he can manage him there's no way he's leaving now. To buy a player of equal ability (for us) is 50m+ in today's market. Selling one for 15m (or less) is shit business.

Will come down to his relationship with Pep entirely. Fingers crossed he stays because we are the winners then.

Not at all. I think the label on Nasri is fake and made up. Folks have confused their not liking his game, for not liking him.

Again, admitting to having been childish once is actually a sign of growth. That you (and many other City fans to be fair) use this as some stick to point at is bewildering.

Hence why I asked, at City, any period, what history?
So, "sabotaging his team's chances against Barcelona under Pelegrini," seems to be all you have. How did he do this exactly if I may ask?

Really, lots of folks here don't like Nasri's game and never have. And any opportunity or excuse to get rid of him, always appeals to them.

Again, he hasn't done anything at City so suggest the bile he gets. The fact is I was one of those who didn't want us to get him. I wanted Mata instead or Carzola. Both of whom were cheaper and on the trade block when we were busy pining for him.

And once he got here, his style robbed many the wrong way. Can't say I love it myself, but i see the value in it. He moves better than any player without the ball and seldom loses it when he is on it.

However, doesn't push the issue, which is the real reason many here can't stand him. They mistake his temperamental choice of seldom pushing the issue, for lack of effort or application. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Its just a different style. One that looks so much better when he has thoroughbreds like Sterling, Sane, Walker, Mendy, Jesus and Sanchez running the lines ahead of him.

4 AMs should be Silva, Silva, Debryune, Nasri.
3 DMs should be Yaya, Gundogan, Dihno
5 FW Aguero, Jesus, Sane, Sterling, (Sanchez)

I think we will need him eventually. Right now it looks like excess. But the season is long.

That leaves 4 non home grown spots for defenders, Kompany, Otamendi, Mendy, Denilo, plus Stones and Walker an injury to Kompany or any of them for that matter, we are starting with Mendy injured, and we have just 5 defenders for 4 positions just so we can cover am mid with Nasri, So unless we can get a cheap homegrown cb/ lb it's not going to happen. Has little to do with ability it's how Pep wants to balance his squad.

There is a direct correlation with Samir and Yaya - not my fault if it is above your thinking

For all Ya Ya's faults he's never asked to leave. Unlike Nasri.

And for what its worth Ya Ya has imo been the most important player our club has had since the Sheikh rocked up. If not before too.

Seeing how Pep managed to turn Yaya back into a proper football player I see noe reason why a (smaller) miracle can't happen again with Sami. We won't get a lot for him on the market anyway and IF he decides to stay and give it a go it could turn out to be a boon. No risk of him upsetting the harmony of the squad as long as boss Gardiola rules here. The players are noe longer bigger than the club thankfully.

Simple except in his position we have 3 or 4 players to rotate so the two Silvas, KDB and maybe Gundogan, whichever had missed out on c/l games would still most likely play league games before Nasri would.
It wasn't Yayas choice he wasn't being picked for any game until he apologised, then he was put into c/l squad in January.
