Neymar

this will blow away any doubt about FFP and uefa stopping manchester city and PSG it will open the flood gate's manchester city are sitting pretty here we can know stop having to take the shit and finger pointing by uefa we can now fight back

am not saying we should go and rush and buy mbappe but if he is on the market then options are open for the club so its good news this morning
Don't see what difference it makes, PSG will have to account for buying Neymar in their books and if they fail FFP would be punished same applies to us today same as yesterday.

More and more players will begin to run down their contracts/sign shorter contracts or demand release clauses that aren't insane if this transfer fee trajectory continues. We will be seeing a lot more Alexis Sanchez situations, positive this sort of thing played on his mind when contemplating signing a new deal.

At the start of the transfer window there were plenty of rumours Neymar was looking for a new club. If we hadn't needed so many other players in the squad I'm sure we would have been bidding for him. It seems from his agent's comments the rags tried hard. I'm glad they failed. He's a quality player, even though his attitude isn't perfect.

Reading the BBC comments on this transfer is giving me a good chuckle. Just full of the "The game/world has gone mad", "Football has lost it's soul", "That's me done with football" type comments. The same shit you hear when we sign a couple of full backs we badly needed. But I guarantee you come the start of the season every single one of them will be watching.

nope its 2 fingers to FFP by PSG how can you stop a player wanting to move the price tag they say as nothing to do with the players and PSG know the rules and still signing him uefa want the best players in there tv money making cup so how do you stop it

FFP is a joke and manchester city should have to them to court over it and uefa would have backed down just like with PSG this morning letting them sign somebody for over £200million knowing there turn over is one of the lowest in europe

I've never been convinced he's the right fit for the Premier League. I'm far happier to see us buy fullbacks and pursue the players we seem to be doing.

Of course, you'd likely find those that posted the "done with football" comments are from the very same people that were "done with football" a couple of weeks back.

Oh the outrage, the scandal, I'm so angry I'm going to sign up to this comments section on a football story to tell everybody I'm done with football, that'll show 'em.

Don't really get the signing. He will improve their first team but the signing will have an impact on squad size and depth.

PSG with Neymar are still not a huge threat to the elite.

I've no idea how PSG will account for it, but he's the only signing they have paid out for so if they sell a couple the fee and wages won't be that bad, probably less than our summer spending. Either way FFP is still a thing and when the time comes they will pass or fail, it has no relevance to us as as far as I can see we have no intention of not being self sustaining.

Some club was always going to drive a coach and horses through FFP...I must confess, I thought it would be us.

Of course, it could be a wonderful double-cross by Neymar, he takes the millions on offer but decides to stay at Barca...all he has to do is fulfill his ambassadorial duties and they can't touch him without admitting that paying off Barca was part of their deal

Or is that just the way my mind works?

Seeing they got knocked out the champions league mainly because of him what makes you think he won't be the guy to take them to the next level. I genuinely believe he can be the difference in them winning the champions league which seems to be their main priority and the basis for the transfer

They still won't win the champions league. Barca is going to take that money and sign dybala or coutinho or both. They are still a step below the top and I'd say they are behind us as well

Even though this transfer was highly unlikely at the beginning of the window, if it now goes through it will further change the face of football similar to when Zidane moved to Madrid.

This has got state politics written all over it, & will also put a stick up the arse of football's ruling elite. What's the betting they'll be gunning for both City & PSG because of this?

€1m per week is £600k+ per week net. It's certainly a persuasive argument to move....
