Welcome Ederson

A top class keeper needs a huge amount of confidence and fearlessness. Ederson has that in abundance and you can see how it lifts the side.

Bravo on the other hand seemed to lack and confidence and as a result he became a shadow of the keeper he has been for Barca and Chile. He was more reactive than proactive and he ended up second guessing his natural game.

Hopefully, Bravo can get back his mojo because if he can we will have two outstanding keepers.

He is the real deal sweeper keeper. Completely over the top at times and is bound to drop the odd clanger when he comes rushing out.
However he is also a fabulous shot stopper, comfortable with the ball at his feet and his distribution looks excellent.
Super confident in all he does unlike Bravo.
Brilliant signing!
He will be a monster of a keeper for us.

I am truly excited to see how many points this lad can gain us, I think it will be an absolute bagful. What I'm not excited by is the inevitable shrieking overreaction on here when he does drop the odd bollock. Comes with the territory for a lad like this in a system like ours, but guarantee there will be plenty giving him a slagging at points this season.

I've always liked Bravo and think he looked class at Barça, very agile. I also think he was a bit unfairly treated because most cityzens never got to see the best of him and ended up thinking he was a sub par keeper. As far as those penalties he saved for Chile in the ConfCup, I have to say they were very poorly taken by us. Kudos to him regardless, but we really messed up.

That said, Muric has been looking good and I cannot see Bravo being given a second chance anytime soon.

Armann I think you are correct. I don't think he really wanted to move from Barca if the truth be known, and some how City and the project got sold to him and he came and realised it wasn't for him and probably his family either , and small things led to bigger things and before you know it you have a player with no confidence and not knowing how to get it back quickly and that's how we ended up with the goalie situation of last season , because let's be fair on paper he was everything we needed .

This.
Joe had his weaknesses but Bravo, no matter how good he was with his feet, is the worst keeper I have ever seen play in a City shirt. At one point last season he had conceded 16 goals from 24 shots! Good keepers have a ratio of 1 goal to 2.5 saves. The best have a ratio of 1 goal to 3.5÷ saves. Bravo has been garbage for us and thank goodness Ederson looks an excellent keeper as well as doing the passing stuff.

So you only been watching city a few years then.

Immell way way worse

Suckling was shit

Dibble was an accident waiting to happen

Martyn margetson bottled it

I think there's a cockup waiting to happen. But Ederson looks a very good keeper. You can forgive the odd cockup if he saves more than he lets in. I had to turn the sound off yesterday watching the West Ham game Hart was doing my head in.

I am massively exited about this guy. He has the attributes to become an absolute legend.
Hopefully his positive contribution will outweigh the negatives enough to convince the flappers....but then again this is Bluemoon!

Give over. I've been a season ticket holder since 73. Immel was indeed ghastly but you have to allow for the standard of defenders in front of the keeper and that makes Bravo truely dreadful.

Ronnie Powell was even worse than Ellegaard, or those mentioned above.

Ask Gary James if you don't remember him. I recall him losing us a cup-tie v Derby when we somehow scored three.

Bravo wasnt called the Hologram for nothing , never seen a keeper manage to position himself so well to make the save , and yet the ball seemed to just go through him
Hopefully Ederson looks like the real deal and the young lad Muric looks promising as well for the future

Having seen footage of him before he signed for us the first thing I thought was his bravery and decision making will save us a lot of points however I can see him fucking up occasionally. The key is to not get on his back, he still a very young keeper and will improve with experience. I think he will be one of the best in a few years.
