Say we don't get him, would that 100m or whatever we are "prepared" to spend be put elsewhere? like a CB or would it just be kept for another occasion.

If I had to make a guess, I would say the following -
1. PSG's bid is enough for Monaco.
2. Mbappe is fine with PSG (and City and Madrid).
3. Monaco are going to hold onto PSG's bid for a while to see if City or Madrid match it or come close to it.
4. If that happens, they'll happily sell Mbappe to City/Madrid.
5. If that doesn't happen, they'll bite the belt and sell him to PSG for what looks like a crazy amount.
Again, all guesswork.
I think you could be bang on with that.

Dont think we'll find out either way, my guess is when their accounts go in they'll be within FFP limits, thats why I doubt they will spend on Mbappe.Probably give them a hefty fine but I'm with Ric can't see them being banned with big names like Neymar & possibly Mbappe.

I said a couple of years ago on here that UEFA won't ban a top team if they overspend. Sponsors would withdraw their money if Messi, Fake Ronaldo, Neymar etc are not involved. Put simply they won't sponsor a second rate competition.

Assuming they have 50m set aside for Sanchez...120 (ish) for Mbappe. Could buy like VVD and Auba for that lets say...obvs that probs won't happen but interesting.

If we were going to drop £160m+ on an alternative, I'd go for Kane, especially since they're losing players and don't seem to be trying to strengthen. Not going to happen, but his goals would win us a few leagues
