I find this whole Mbappe saga just crazy:

National team‡
2014–2015
France U17 2 (0)
2016 France U19 11 (7)
2017– France 4 (0)

Years
Team Apps (Gls) in a crappy French Ligue1
2015–2016
Monaco II 12 (5)
2015– Monaco 41 (16)

Yes he has HUGE potential but €150-€200M on potential is flipping ludicrous...

Here and now Sanchez represents much better value and is proven world-class

Senior career*
Years
Team Apps (Gls)
2005–2006
Cobreloa 47 (9)
2006–2011 Udinese 95 (20)
2006–2007Colo-Colo (loan) 32 (5)
2007–2008River Plate (loan) 23 (4)
2011–2014 Barcelona 88 (39)
2014– Arsenal 103 (53)

National team‡
2006–2008
Chile U20 18 (4)
2006– Chile 115 (38)

Just checked Mbappes stats against Martials and they aren't much better 11 goals in 49 appearances for Monaco at a similar age/time - yet Martial hasn't exactly tore up trees at the swamp (first 3 months aside) - also hailed as the next Thierry Henry

Actually no its not, many of us are happy with what we have, Sane, Aguero, Jesus, Sterling, KdB, is up there with the best in europe. Its obvious that Mbappe/Sanchez would improve us, but getting neither is no disaster, with the 5 already here.
Missed out David Silva and effectively 2 new signings in Bernado Silva and Gundogan. :)

No I didn't, I don't consider them as out and out strikers, (Gundogan will be more the Yaya role anyway), but those mentioned I do think will be considered as forwards.

Out of the 5, maybe KdB is the outsider with the Silva's, but I think he will be used in a more attacking role, than the Silva's.

He never mentioned strikers though in the original quote it was "quality all over the park"... in the attacking sense they all are top quality, all capable of unlocking a defence with assists and goals. Don't be surprised to see Bernardo out on the wing as an out and out attacker either... in short we should be happy if we sign anyone or not as far as our attack goes like you said.

Regarding Gundogan... he proved more useful in attack than I think even Pep expected, Dinho should be back to his natural position more this season along with Yaya so I expect Gundogan to swap roles a lot between pivot and midfield depending on the opposition and who needs resting.

I think PSG know not to take the piss with Monaco as their GM has no qualms about banning sales to PSG. They are acting like us as opposed to the Lierpools of this world maybe? It is just a theory that could work, if Monaco keep getting gems and PSG want a few it is in their best interest not to piss off Monaco.

the betting odds right now are 1/5 to psg (83.3% probability) and 16/1 to city (5.9%)

guess alexis is the one. prob better that way anyways. mbappe is risk with that tag and i wanta see brahim and sancho have a chance. we already have sane raheem jesus

now at 25/1 on sky bet (3.8%) for city still 1/5 psg on skybet 1/9 for paddy power.... pretty sure this one is over.

I don't like the sound of that we'd mess our whole wage structure up if we agreed to those terms for an 18year old(what's that almost €350k per week?)... not just the wage itself but the knock-on effect for other players and new signings.

From what I've just read PSG are paying Neymar £28m per year on his contract compared to the €9.18m he was on at Barca. I can't understand how PSG will balance their books.

Interesting what we do with the huge money we were going to spend, was it cash put aside just for this deal or can it strengthen the squad elsewhere?
Could we go for Van Dijk...Could we get Rose for rotation...Could we unsettle another Spurs player; Alderweireld?
We could probably afford 2 of those with the cash we'd have spent on Mbappe.
Not including Sanchez in any of those permutations because I believe we've got cash set aside for him as well. Although at this rate it wouldn't surprise me if PSG wanted a front 3 of Neymar, Mbappe and Sanchez.

I cannot see PSG buying him. They have made their statement signing. Maybe this is all just a media whirlwind with the "Hacks" self generated bullshit being regurgitated so often it has a life of it's own.
I firmly believe we have agreed on Sanchez and are waiting for Arsenal to find a replacement first. Mbappe is maybe only a "buy if we get the chance" option. Ie we have set a price limit, informed Monaco and await if other bigger offers come in for him. The lack of info coming from our side isn't disinterest, rather we are awaiting Mbappe/Monaco to decide to accept our fixed offer. But who really knows?
Time will tell...

If City bought Mbappe the spend would be the same as PSG bought him...

If they can't then how could we?

We haven't added £90m per year to the accounts as PSG have done with Neymar

Neymar alone is a 5 year £450m investment. Dani Alves will also cost them £24m over 2 years, so over £100m per year.
For comparison, the 5 year cost of Ederson, Danilo, Mendy, Walker, Douglas and Bernardo is £320m or thereabouts (if that), or £64m per year - something the large amount of outgoings cover

We had a slightly higher revenue than them before the new PL TV deal - which will go up 60% as of last season. (accounts not yet released)

PL clubs can also look forward to another increase in TV money from foreign broadcasters in 12 months too, iirc.

We could easily afford Mbappe so long as we didn't go crazy next summer, which is clearly not the plan. Maybe a top DM, a CB and Sanchez on a free with Kun and Toure leaving.
PSG are gonna struggle to deal with the cost of Neymar. Add Mbappe to that at the prices being mentioned? Forget it. UEFA won't fall for any Third Party "ambassador" nonsense either, and if that was put on the accounts at "fair value" unamortised? pmsl

The guy has had one great season and is 18 and wants 350k a week. Move on.
If this is all true i have to admit i'd rather we stay clear, nowt pisses me off than a player not pulling his weight and finding themselves stumbling out of some exclusive shitty bar getting snapped by the pap.

Yes that is a general worry but after he has supposedly asked for the 12mil PSG offered up front to Madrid to it raises questions. If he did it may have gone totally different that insinuated by reports. For example he may have thought 'that 12mil is sweet and i do want that, i can at least ask Madrid with respect and the worst they can do is say no' as opposed to the image portrayed being 'gimme 12mil bitches of fuck ya'll'. I simply do not know the truth and know not to trust the press on any proper level.

I think if we are after him then i'll settle with 'Pep knows best' and not assume Mbappe on any level besides what i do know already and not wring my hands should he end up here. To be honest if the transfer window shut tomorrow i would still be ecstatic about our dealings this summer and what it can mean for the club. A Sanchez or Mbappe would be the hand made and shaved chocolate on top of the icing and cherry upon the finest of cakes.
