The eating of meat serves to cement our rightful place at the top of the food chain.
how do you envisage the planet if we stopped killing these animals? What is your view on how civilisation would function and cope, how the economy would cope, how the ecosystem would manage? What do you think the global impact would be if you removed the apex predator from the food chain?Congrats. People seem to think moral argument means the espouser has to practice what (s)he preaches. The arguments stand alone. The fact that we are weak, or addicted, is by the by.
The chicken would be fucked. What do you think the global impact would be if you removed the apex predator from the food chain?
I can't tell you what to eat, not because I'm ignorant, but because I'm not an authoritarian presumptuous ****. It's not my place to tell anyone how to live their lives. Apparently it is yours. It is the veganism thread numbnuts. What do you expect? You can't tell me what to eat because you're ignorant on the subject. 3rd time I've said that now. Do some reading.
Please.. I have already correctly stated that your arguments are fallacious. I have yet to hear a semi-intelligent reason why we should continue to harm and slaughter animals.
The chicken would be fucked.
I've seen that film. Put me off breakfast it did.The chicken would be fucked.
sweeping generalisation then. You deleted the link because even it wrote that vegans need supplements and that because some meat is factory farmed it means you may miss out, but the nice, proper grass-fed stuff is perfectly fine. So you have to eat factory farmed and preferably American with antibiotics and stuff pumped it. Fine, easy to avoid. Tell me where your vegan diet produces enough natural Vitamin B12, tell me it's widespread and then you can prove science wrong and show humans can survive on a natural diet without animal products.
Thats how it should be,each to there own,no aggro requiredBoth my sisters are healthy, vegetarian women. They have been veggies for as long as I remember.
Not fucking once have they told me why they choose to be or why I should be.
I haven't deleted any link, it's in my previous post. I'm not going to keep posting the same link. I cut and pasted the relevant parts.
Regarding "prove science wrong and show humans can survive on a natural diet without animal products". Vegans already do that as they survive and don't eat animal products, so what is your point? I get b12 and don't eat animal products.
There are some vegans who don't have a clue about dietary requirements, but I would say quite a large percentage are more clued up about it than most omnivores. How much b12 and protein have you consumed today?
I had half a roast chicken and its other leg and thigh. The wife ate the other breast. (Chicken's not mine). How much b12 and protein have you consumed today?

I'd wager I'm as well read on the subject as yourself, I just don't agree with you and that's what it is upsetting you so much. That and me eating animals of course, but we both know that's not going to change.
You can keep calling nature fallacious all you like, I'll keep repeating it.
And yes, it's the vegan thread, what were you expecting? Mass lobotomies and everyone converting after you brow beat them into thinking they were evil?
Meat is natural, it's tasty, it's full of lovely vitamins and protein and it's not being remove from our diets in the lifetime of yourself or your pasty friends.

That's three of your 'five a day'.I had half a roast chicken and its other leg and thigh.
Ok Cromagnon. I'll be charitable. Perhaps you are as well read as I on the subject. But your ridiculous cognitive biases have rendered you incapable of gaining a proper prespective of what constitutes value here on Earth and indeed the universe.
As I already said. I don't post for you. I post in the hope that it may reach some people. Obstinate people such as yourself are beyond reasoning. You will still, as you have just said, use a fallacy. Well done you.

no, he's entitled to his own perspective of value and in the Universe, that is what meat-eating allowing us to be the apex predator, has afforded him. His own right to decide. You just have a particular obsession on what constitutes value and are hell-bent on driving it home on everyone, regardless of whether they really give a toss.
Moving away from the whole natural or unnatural debate, surely you have thoughts on the treatment, particularly the fear and torment leading up to slaughter??
That's my reasoning for going veggie. After getting a dog, it opened my eyes to the emotions and feelings of animals much more and although the killing itself is as "humane" as they can make it, the treatment leading up to that point is what I disagree with.
The panic and emotional turmoil we put the animals through is a disgrace and we have no right to do that, top of the food chain or not.
For many, this is the main reasoning and I don't see anyone offering a counter-argument to this.
