Alexis Sanchez

Just re watched the goal we conceded Silva was tracking back with Rooney and then just let him go unmarked to the edge of our penalty box without a defender anywhere near!

Exactly, I was surprised watching the replay. More Silvia's fault than Stones'.

Aguero should have smashed that chance he had the other night, yet he decides to lob the keeper,
If it's the one I'm thinking of, the angle was too tight on the left and he was crossing, think it was Jesus stood on the 6 yard that should have been on he move. Unless you mean a different one.

Just hope we don't put all in on Sanchez then miss out. Would leave us short in the forward line, not really heard other names mentioned all summer for a forward, just Mbappe. However club could have something planned nobody knows about.

It is true. We need so many chances to score but we don't take them. Aguero should have smashed that chance he had the other night, yet he decides to lob the keeper, then he had a chance which he decided not to take a shot. He scores a lot of goals over the course of the season, but that's down to the number of chances we create.

So what do we do, sell Aguero? Who out there is better? Aguero would walk in to any team in the league and we would all moan when he's hitting 25 plus goals. We do need to start taking more of our chances, but it would help if our midfield and defence weren't cut open every time the opposition counter attack.

As good as he has been for us,that's no surprise where Aguero is concerned,he needs half a dozen opportunities before he puts one away.We need a more lethal option,is that Sanchez?

The same chances wouldn't usually fall to Sanchez, as he is a different kind of footballer.

The advantage of Sanchez would be him replacing someone else. Otherwise we will just replace one set of goals for another.

Most of the chances missed last season were not missed by Aguero, they were missed by eveybody else. He still got 30 goals & got the important one last week.

Definitely and the Walker sending off changed the game, we were creating a lot of chances up until then and I'm sure that would have continued but for the sending off.

Sane gave the ball away carelessly in a dangerous position, Silva stopped tracking the run when the appeals for offside were made, Vinnie got pulled into the challenge by the young lad and ended up on his arse, Ota was lying a couple of feet too deep playing the young lad onside. It was a collective failure. Rooney took the chAnce well and I don't think Eddy was at all to blame.

Yup but not actually signing anyone ha. Tbf I did state a couple of weeks back I think we're done minus a squad type CB. Don't think Sanchez is happening.
Tend to agree but that is a dangerous ploy. Remember we are minus Kelechi as back up this season unless he intends using Sterling or Sane in the forward position. On the evidence of the other night Sterling may not be a bad option although he is likely to miss even more chances than Kun.

How has his role changed?
In my opinion, he's asked to do more running, from deeper, and come in from wider positions & support a lot more, (rather than being the focal point of the attack), which I don't think suits him, particularly now he's lost a bit of pace

Oh I agree with you 100% be dissapointed if we don't go for Sanchez he would be a game changer for us.

Maybe Sanchez and Mbappe have both agreed terms with us and PSG... it's a waiting game on Arsenal and Monaco now.. maybe there is a link between sales and exits of Draxler/Lemar/Fabinho/Aurier relating to finance... and likewise us with Bony, Roberts, etc. That's why I see it going down to the wire.

I do think Arsenal were going to be resolute and not allow us a pre-season with Sanchez regardless.

The rest of the league and most of Europe would describe Aguero as clinical, his goal record since joining would also support this... our forwards do need to put away more chances, but to say we don't have a clinical striker is just not true.
16% says our striker isn't clinical enough.
Why is everyone in denial where Aguero is concerned.

Asking him to be a complete player is not asking too much of him. Closing out CBs and showing for his teammates is a core responsibility of being a striker. You aren't going to beat the best playing effectively with 10 men in bunches of scenarios.

Can't blame just Aguero for 16%, Silva, KDB , and Sterling must have brought our average down last season. That's why it's important to bring in goals from another position with Sanchez before we think about replacing 30 goals in Aguero.
