We will have left ourselves very thin on the ground forward wise if this doesn't happen. For all the good work done earlier in this window not getting this one over the line could end up costing us. We really should be more forceful in our intentions instead of the nicely nicely approach.

We seem to do it every transfer window...nice soft approach, fail to get top targets for whatever reason...as well as being pushovers when selling players on

Our success rate at landing top targets is probably no worse than any of the other big clubs in England, tbh. Indeed, it's probably higher than most.

I think the problem I have is that it seems its Sanchez or nothing....our issues in front of goal last season and in the 1st 2 games this year should tell us "nothing" just not good enough. With no links to any other forwards, I'm just hoping this means we're close with Sanchez...

I remember someone on here saying at the start of the window that Alexis's management is searching for houses somewhere in Manchester, wonder if it was true or not

Fans of the rest of the top sides in the country will wonder why we're signing him, when we have so much more in attack than they do & yet require a centre back.

That's a fair bit of supposition on your behalf though. Who's to say the club don't have alternative targets that they'll move for if they think they can't get Sanchez? You can only really judge how successful a window has been when it closes.

But do you think that a prime alternative could be arranged in a short space of time? We must have done all the legwork with Sanchez over months

We need both. On paper we have plenty in attack but not many goalscorers. I fear an injury or suspension to either Jesus or Aguero could prove costly.

Seeing as we're in for Evans, we should have gone in for Hernandez

*Hides*

We have more goalscorers than most.

We paid 50 mil each for two kids (Sterling & Sane) who are both supposed to score goals, plus another fortune for KDB, who is supposed to score goals (Pep has mentioned it).

Both Silvas are also supposed to chip in with a decent total.

If Aguero, Jesus, Sane, Sterling & DeBruyne are not scoring goals, rather than looking to buy more of them & hoping that solves it, the manager should first of all try to figure out why.

I'm pretty fucking sure they'd have no problem scoring v us.

.

With the one chance they get.

Tbf only Aguero in that list above is a consistent, prolific goalscorer.
