Ok, tin hat time.

A colleague of mine works on the sports side of the QIA, I had pre-weekend drinks with him today after work. He states categorically that Sanchez's agent did meet with PSG but PSG were told that Sanchez will be moving to City this summer and his words were "lump on and you're buying money".

Note: I am not putting more than a tenner on but he could not have been any more unequivocal. He spoke about it as if it was already complete.

On a separate note, PSG do not get on with Barca and he had a few funny stories of conversations.

So, why, despite all our attacking flair, do we currently seem to need at least 8 tries before we eventually succeed in hitting a cow's ar*e with a banjo.

The goal Roony scored on Monday night, (and let's be honest the high line we play will always mean we're vulnerable to counter attacks whichever CB is eventually brought in) wouldn't have mattered jack sh*t if we'd stuck away a quarter of our chances
Totally agree amigo. Goals win games not just sublime football. It's what the rags did last time they won the prem.

Sounds good to me pal ..and I totally believe something like this being the case for quite a while now.

Still can't believe how many are still nervous of us not signing Sanchez. Just be patient it'll happen at the end of window ..no way are Arsenal gonna miss out on £70/80m. No chance

I'd be in no way as certain as that, but all the same it's been pretty much my view all along too.
Still very hopeful.

Cheers for that. I can imagine that post-Neymar relations are extremely poor

No it wouldn't. But if on another day their midfielder who was left unmarked 25 yards out from a very similar move, with time to pick his spot had buried it rather than hitting the stand (as we have seen happen even in the 3rd division) or Rooney had scored one of two difficult but doable free headers, of their keeper had a great game 11v 11 even if we did hit ths target, the result might have been much worse.

If Aguero, Jesus, Sterling, Sané & DeBruyne truly can't hit a bulls arse with a banjo, then signing Sanchez won't be enough on its own & we will STILL have to stop teams from creating chances, from moves that wouldn't have caused Richard Jobson or Gerrard Wiekens much trouble.

If they are actually pretty fucking good, then we should be able to win most games at least 1-0, no matter how many busses are parked, if we actually have 70% of the ball.

Fair enough. Cheers.

You in the Q-tel then ?

No mate. We struggle to finish the chances we create. I'm not sure why you're so desperate to play a tedious semantic game when the facts are clear. Our chance conversation rate is appalling. That's not a difficult concept.

I'm not playing any game, semantic or otherwise. The point which it seems you - and certainly others are missing - is that all chances are not created equal and a lot of ours are barely chances at all, they are rushed, half-chances; not the wide-open goal, absolute sitter, that some on here would imply. This is understandable since most of our opponents pack their penalty areas and play backs to the wall for 90 minutes. So to simply compare Sanchez's conversion rate to Sergio's and then say Sanchez is more clinical, based on scant data and completely different circumstances, is just plain silly.

But for the 3rd time, yes I agree we are not clinical enough at the moment and we need to do something about that. Without hiring another 6 Sanchez' and getting rid of half our squad, this is still a problem that needs addressing. Hiring Sanchez on its own is not the answer.
