Surprised this thread is still going. Never gonna sign VVD are we surely?! Doubt we'll be able to afford it (budget wise) ..as can definitely see it being £70/80m for Sanchez which no doubt will get done. Then got a feeling it'll be JFE for about £25m. But that's just what I think : /

VVD would not be buying for the sake of it, would set us up for years to come. £60 million for VVD or £30 million for Evans. Now let me see....

Otamendi and Mangala "ticked all the boxes" when we signed them too. It's dead easy playing the transfer game with hindsight.

You raise a valid point and one that I have tried to on several occasions. It is strange that some already know player x will be great for us without kicking a ball in our set up and player y will be shite. PL experience, before dispute captained his team and is comfortable on the ball.
