It's Quiet - a new dawn

3 in ? Sanchez, JFE and Aaron Martin ?
That would be the best ending really. We really need another leftback to rotate with Mendy and Evans will be needed for the HG spot (does Northern Ireland qualify?) if we offload Delph. If these are the 3 to round out the window, we could end up with a phenomenal summer to leave less to focus on next summer in terms of positions to strengthen.

I wish people would realise that teams don't create chances against us!

We've got the quietest defence in the league - we face the fewest shots of anyone. The problem we had last year was not the amount of opportunities, it was individual errors made by players not capable of playing in the system - or in Bravo's case bizarrely out of form.

The addition of Mendy, Walker, Danilo has made our backline suitable to playing high, and as a result we'll see even fewer chances on our goal, and fewer goals conceded.
I agree that we don't concede many opportunities, but it seems that those chances are of good quality and have a good possibility of going in the net. I think some of those chances get reduced due to Ederson's quality over Bravo and having fullbacks who can track back, but I do understand the need to have better defenders who won't concede high quality chances.

We don't need anyone to 'fill HG slots'. We could send in a list of 17 foreigners if we wanted.

Be interesting to see that goals per shot on both axis ... We play high line so teams get in behind with better quality opportunities and the opposite happens at the other end as they park the bus

Still a worry though with Bravo in goal for the cup matches!

So Marca say we won't sign Aaron Martin this summer. But if we get Evans and Sanchez. We can't really complain....can we?

Let's hope our 3 FB's remain healthy. And Pep doesn't waste Sane at WB. Perhaps Evans as a left-sided defender can cover LB? With little offensive duties.

Kolarov -> Evans

Zabaleta -> Walker

Sagna -> Danilo

Clichy -> Mendy

Caballero -> Ederson

Navas -> Sanchez

Nolito -> Bernardo

If anyone complains after that window they should be excommunicated.

I'd prefer a rapid center back with a brain to play alongside Vinny.

North Ireland doesn't make any odds, he was trained in England so is homegrown. Gael Clichy was homegrown despite the notable handicap of being French. Victor Moses is homegrown despite being Nigerian. Although it sounds like Hector Bellerin is from North London, believe it or not he is actually Spanish. Eric Dier plays for England, albeit very badly, but is not homegrown because he trained in Portugal.

Yup. But going to be interesting to see the set-up if 2 of our full-backs are injured. Let's say Walker and Mendy. And Pep want's to play with a attacking LB that game. Does he use Sane? Or perhaps alter the formation and use Evans as a more defensive minded LB.

LB is going to be basically the only position in the squad where we don't have an like-for-like replacement.
