Couldn't agree more. He certainly wouldn't be the first player to retire from international football in an attempt to prolong his club career.

As much as we all want Vinny to stay injury free with the Belgian team, I think he knows this will be his last World Cup. Maybe even his last big international tournament. I would assume he'll want to play for them as much as possible to keep his starting spot.

After the amount of football he's missed for City over the years due to injury he should maybe think about his employers first now instead of his own glory, the more he plays more chance of injury, he should retire imho, if he comes back injured it could royally screw our season.

That would be Salah whose 25 and played nearly 80 games in the past 2 season compared to Kompany whose 31 and played just over 30 games in 2 years?
