There's no reason for any club representative to be part of the decision making council. This is sports not politics.

Whatever strategy for the future of European football is, it would be in the vested interest of club representatives. it's unavoidable. Even if we had a representative, ours would pursue strategic planning for what is best for our club's future. Everyone will bring their own agenda onto the table when given the chance part of the council.

Manchester City have threatened legal action against La Liga president Javier Tebas after he criticised their transfer spending.

The Spanish supremo claimed City, and Paris St Germain, had been “peeing in the pool” over their transfer spending this summer, during an interview he gave at the Soccerex conference in Manchester.

That came two days after it was revealed that Tebas had written a letter to Uefa urging an investigation into the spending by both City and PSG – with Uefa deciding that City had no case to answer.

Further allegations made by Tebas are expected to emerge tonight, and as a result the Blues have consulted their solicitors and will be in touch with La Liga.

A statement released by City reads: “We note the public comments made by Mr. Tebas today and earlier this week.

“Uefa’s statement of the 4th of September is clear and based on accurate information.

“By contrast, Mr. Tebas’ statements are ill-informed and in parts pure fiction.
 
I have just seen his comments and believe they are defamatory unless he can prove they are true. It is a disgrace and we should take Tebas to the cleaners. It is just part of a dirty tricks campaign by Barca. The BBC coverage is, as usual, unbalanced and unfair. They make no attempt to put the article into context. FFS Barca have just spent £135m on a single player.

Good article by SB. A rag by the name of UWS has posted a reply of the most bitter and ignorant proportions imaginable. He says "The truth is..." and then proceeds to churn out all the usual bitter rag myths and lies.

There a different roles as someone pointed out they are(including Woodward) only there for the strategy council probably for one of the below criteria:
b) Four representatives elected for a two-year term by the group recognised by UEFA as representing the interests of the European professional football leagues.

c) Four representatives elected for a two-year term by the group recognised by UEFA as representing the interests of the clubs participating in the UEFA competitions.

I think a PSG rep being there is actually a good thing, they are our canary down the mine I'd say, they have 2 years in their ear but any proposed changes that will affect us will affect them more severely I reckon.
