Rag!Evans has more experience and has played and knows how to handle big games like this sooooo much more than Mangala or Tosin. It counts for a lot more than you would think with regards to CB.

And the rest. Think the true figure was a lot more than 30.Was it 30 for Mangala ?
CorrectLet's be honest, the real problem is the protection he sets up in front of them. With a decent dm, stones and otta are good enough.
Regardless we've an opportunity to make a big statement tomorrow, winning big games without Kompany is something we've been told we can't do.
I could not agree more with every word you have said .Why is Kompany still playing international football with his injury record....he needs to think long and hard on what's important...it's obvious to all and sundrie that he can't cope with the games when they come thick and fast...throw in internationals and it's asking for trouble
It's called complacency, the word runs through the club like through a stick of Blackpool rockLike others already said. How this was not addressed in the transfer window is beyond me. You don't have to be a Genius to know that Kompany would sooner or later be out injured again.

True but they don't give a fig about what the fans think or tell them, there is a complacency behind the scenes that is epedemic, almost like shut up you plebs we know best when in truth they know next to fuck all, it's not only team matters either it's the whole infastructure of the club from the ticket office to our non existent media dept, they are just wasters, i know i'v said this before and been slaughtered for it but i don't give a fuck, it's what i'v gleaned from other peopleIt certainly appears that way. If the fans were in charge this would have been addressed 2 years ago.
Agree.I'm as gutted as anyone that Kompany is injured again and I did expect a top CB to be brought in over the summer but let's just get behind Otamendi and Stones for the time being, there's no point being negative before they've even played the game. This season we have a better keeper as well as two quicker and more adept full backs to complement them. Let's see if it makes a difference to the form of the centre backs.
At the end of the day Otamendi cost £30M, Stones cost £50M and even Mangala was around £40M depending on who you believe so there's no excuses, if Pep truly is the best he will be able to get a tune out of that lot.
I'll be honest. If he puts a couple of DM's in front of those two and has the fullbacks stay back instead of going forward, they might be okay. Hopefully, it's those two though. I don't even want to consider Mangala.Let's be honest, the real problem is the protection he sets up in front of them. With a decent dm, stones and otta are good enough.

He was out most of last season and we still had the 4th best defenaive record in the league conceding 39, the press bullshit about our terrible defence is just that.
More concerned about losing his presence as a leader on the pitch, bit if it's just a couple of games then I won't worry yet.
I would deffinately play Yaya with vinny out though.
Either the club or Kompany himself needs to admit he's done.
Harsh for such a legend and we should find a role for him but its hurting us now holding on like this.
The timing of the injury straight after the transfer window closing is also concerning.

The moaning in here makes the matchday thread sound measured and restrained.Lets just get behind Eliaquim and Tosin and get on with the match.
