Remember last season when Mahrez's penalty was disallowed because he accidentally touched it twice? The pundits all took the view that the letter of the law had been correctly applied but that it was a stupid law. Shearer was one of those pundits and he took the same position with the Mane red card. "Yes by the letter of the law it's a red card but it's stupid" was his response.

The other really annoying thing is that the pundits will hammer a ref who gets things wrong but when a ref correctly applies the letter of the law, he gets hammered. The FA/PGMOL should be coming out saying that Jon Moss correctly interpreted the law in the case of this incident and applied it correctly.
The problem is they told him to make sure someone walked, they never imagined he'd get the team wrong ;-)

I can see Liverpool players wearing Mane T shirts this week fucking embarrassing twats. This isn't being helped by wankers like Lineker, Neville, Sutton & that twat Neil Ashton.

You wait for the next bad tackle from a City player it will cause an uproar..
Won't need to be a bad tackle mate, when did we last get a genuine red for one of those

They are all jealous bitter and twisted cnuts that hate us but you know what i hate them all back a trillion times more. Next time we play the teams that these cnuts support i hope we stuff them 10 - 0. Would love to then rub into there fat ugly faces.

they hate us cos we cost them money. on Saturday as the score reached 3 nil hundreds of scouse vermin walked out. well times that by a few million and that's how many turned their telly off around the world. then factor in plastic rags doing the same(one admitted it to me today)and there is a serious loss of revenue there. they know this game is gone, they know the red will stick, there is nothing they can do....except kick up a big enough fuss that should anything like this come around again the outcome will be different, unless its aguero on a goalie of course. they are now simply laying foundations for future refs and future games.

Is the correct answer.

Take it easy mate, the poor bloke has 3 hours of (hot) air time to fill. I heard some of it earlier; harmless and irrelevant, as well as wrong
I was only listening in to hear what talkshite pundits had to say, it passed an hour while waiting for the history series The Normans on BBC4, while i was watching that his outpourings were still doing my head in :(

Out of curiosity does anyone what Mane has been sent off for in the past?
Just looking on Google and according to his Wikipedia page he got a straight red at stoke playing for saints which later got rescinded. Got fined 2 or 3 times for being late for training and meetings whilst at Southampton but as far as it goes only one red card.
Personally I don't think he's got a malicious bone in his body, yes he plays on the edge and he is pumped up every match judging by his livewire performances but Saturday was unintentional but reckless.

Haha, from Talksport to BBC4 -
Truly all of humanity lies within and between ;-)

I had read that he had been red carded quite a few times. I was wondering for which offences, whether reckless play or the usual two yellows.
