Aguero injured after a car accident in the Netherlands

It really is ludicrous the comment on and in the press here that Sergio shouldn't be able to have a personal life. I can understand the BBC having a Pop because they're rag media central and anything to have a pop.
He'd have been back with the squad on Friday morning without the accident 32 hours before a big game and would have had a good night's sleep before the game. He could just as easily have a crash driving to training every morning for fecks sake.

With the minutes Sergio has had recently, I'm not convinced he'd have started against Chelsea. Not to say we won't miss him but I think we have 4 home fixtures after this, so it could have been worse. Mendy's injury is more problematic but nothing we can't cope with. Big opportunity for Jesus this, he'll be well fired up for Saturday.

If he's out for 2 months he'll miss

Chelsea
Stoke (H)
Napoli
Burnley (H)
Wolves (H)
West Brom
Napoli
Arsenal (H)
Leicester --- 5 weeks
Feyenoord
Huddersfield
Southampton (H)

I think most people would agree that apart from the Chelsea game, and maybe Arsenal, we should be comfortably beating those PL teams with Bernardo, KDB, Silva, Sterling, Sané and Jesus making up the attack.

Napoli will probably be the place where we miss him the most, but our first 2 results in the group mean that we could conceivably lose both games and still qualify perfectly well, but as Napoli are prioritising their league (the rested players for their Shakhtar game) we should really be taking points from those games anyway.

If he's out for 5 weeks then he'd be back for Leicester.

Meanwhile in those 2 months:

United play Liverpool away, Spurs at home and Chelsea away.
Chelsea play Liverpool away, United at home.

So plenty of opportunities for our opposition to drop points.

It takes 1 hour 20 mins to fly to Amsterdam. If he'd driven to the Midlands you wouldn't be saying anything.

Isn’t the issue that he was out at 4am 48 hours before the biggest game of our season to date?

Yes this could have happened as he pulled out his front gates. But non the less, ridulous to be out at that time , in another country

Couple off points.
players have to inform the club as to there whereabouts(as with the debacle of drug testing)so kun would off informed the club,& the club sanctioned it..ies
Now going by media reports(if it is rib/ribs injuries,) Didnt Gaz Barry have a injury(some bone fracture before a tournament for Eng).
And used/slept in some air chamber, which can speed up the injury process??..
Yeah
Hyperbaric chamber
Up the oxygen pressure - quicker healing .

When it comes to injuries, it very much seems that way. And these injuries always seem to be players who are very much pivotal in the team, ie Kompany(more the last 2 years than this) Mendy,KDB not long after he joined and was flying and Aguero(a few times now) etc. We are very fotrunate to have this squad and watch this amazing football, absolutely no argument on that. But surely you've got to admit we've been dealt a shitty hand with injuries the last 3 years.
Hard to disagree but every football club in the world has the same issues so to single us out as being cursed - I think not

I bet loads of Premier league players nip off to Europe on their days off. As long as they don't drink and are back for training what does it matter.

Strangely I was watching one of those 999 type programmes last night and a bloke fell off a canal boat and broke some ribs. He was in fucking agony and no way fit to jump on a plane. If City are saying he's flying back today then that gives me hope that it may just be bruising, however no chance for Chelski

Must admit, doesn't look too bad on paper that, obviously 3 x CL games included as well, but on reflection we should be ok as you say to be honest

Think we'll have to use Bernardo as a false 9 again to rotate with Jesus. And pray to fuck that Gundogan can stay fit for 2 months at least, to cover Kev and Silva. Gonna be tough though because Bernardo also has to rotate with Sané and Sterling. Our squad isn't all that deep across the board really. 3 injuries and we're struggling.
