Vincent Kompany injuries

Pep won't be happy with Martinez so he can fuck off. Basically it puts Kompany in a no win situation even if he is fit to play for them. He plays for them he is toast here.
Kompany will just have to do the sensible thing and save what's left of his City career. Kompany's proved what he can do, so his absence gives Belgium a chance of succession planning. Come the end of the season, if Kompany's fit enough for the world cup, then Martinez can cross the selection bridge when he comes to it, if not, then he's planned for Kompany's absence throughout the season, so there'll be no surprises in the Belgium back line.

Kompany's been here before though, & twice before he's ignored City's wishes & played for Belgium. Let's see who blinks first between Manager & Captain this time.

High wages saved and his none appearances eradicated. There's 2 things achieved right away.
His wages are irrelevant to a club like City. He is valuable for the games he does play and his experience and leadership. You can't buy that.

How do you know his wages are irrelevant??...if we're paying him 100k a week and he's running out for 20 matches a season then he's on £200k a do, At that price it becomes easier to stop telling lies to yourself and start pondering if you could better what you have.

Kompany should not be considered for the first team until he hangs up his international boots. We need to take a hard line as he is fragile and always gets injured when playing for his country.

What an enormous sack load of bollox. He should be allowed to play for his country as much as anyone else.

How many times has he been injured playing for Belgium ?..more than a couple I would guess. Martinez is a Cnut who couldn't care less about us. Sadly, we cant rely on Vinny anymore. Time to move on and find a replacement.

If his wages were irrelevant, why did we have to rid ourselves of high earners to fund our rebuilding drive last summer? Wages count toward FFP, so are highly relevant.

UEFA/G14 proved this by moving the original FFP financial monitoring period back by 12 months, which then included more of Carlos Tevez's wages, hence we failed & were smacked with a £49m fine & three years of restrictions.

The importance of removing Nasri's wages from our accounts were the reason we sold him for a nominal fee.

Everything you say about Kompany is correct, but as you put it, it becomes irrelevant if he's perpetually injured.

The fact that we were having the same debate three years ago. epitomises why City haven't progressed as quickly as we would like. Sadly, there's too many people suggesting what's best for Kompany rather than what's best for the club.

I think the days are gone where the pisscan practically told his players, club first. Even if coming back from injuries they all chomping at the bit to play for their country, Regardless if it pisses off clubs.

Who would those people be? The only ones that matter are the management and what they think - the rest is just opinion.

The posters reacting angrily to Vinny's injury on international duty are doing exactly the same as the media having a go at Kun for being in Holland. Both players were no more at risk where they got injured than in the UK.

True.

What is baffling from the same crowd is the assumption that he would be a ok each and every time he pulls on a City shirt.

Vinny has weak muscle definition in his legs and a history of soft tissue issues that are long standing now.

It's not going to improve over time its only going to get worse and it has to managed properly.

As captain of our 2 titles he has status in the club like few others have enjoyed throughout our history and has blue veins for sure and certain.

Many including me have been saying that for a sometime we should have bought someone into the club for him to mentor sometime ago to be captain of the side into the future permanently rather than drawing at straws over past seasons as to who it is when he is injured.

When his playing days are over and that day is drawing near he will have the opportunity should he wish to stay at the club for sometime to come ala Gerrard etc.

Gone are the days when we can rely on Vinny to pull us through as he did in the past , he legs are gone in effect.

Its time to look forward but that does not mean we cannot utilise him when his legs are half good or as good as they will be into the future.

In the meantime we rely on Stones and Ota and Mangala if necessary that we know at least have a keeper of quality behind them that will as good as Manure have enjoyed for a number of years now.

It's not the same scenario though is it. Kompany had been out for a long spell and hadn't played a single minute for us but was called up to the belgium squad. Everyone knew that if they played him there was a massive chance of doing huge damage to him. So guess what, they played him and unsurprisingly got injured badly. He's never recovered from that in my opinion so quite rightly I'm pissed off with the Belgium team. Getting injured on international is fine but this was a ridiculous decision by them
