Arsenal (H) Post Match Thread

I thought Sanchez played well today & rarely lost the ball. He wasn't able to effect the result, but that was more about City than how he played imo.

If we do get him, he'll be a welcome addition to an already impressive squad.

Agree completely.

In our side he is a fucking beast of a player.

The penalty was clearly a penalty. For our third goal Silva looked a mile offside in real time but the replays showed it was closer than close and, as is not unusual, depends on the moment the ball left KdB's boot. In such cases it is impossible to "blame" an assistant whose honest judgement does not favour your team. The problem is Wenger expects every decision to favour Arsenal and becomes an increasingly ill-mannered and unsporting boor when they don't. It appears that his comments today may have talked him into trouble with the authorities and this is thoroughly deserved. Today we saw the full consequences of 20+ years of Wengerism - players who make the assistant's decisions for him and simply stop playing, who then moan and moan when their decision is not upheld and a manager whose sole aim is to use the officials as an excuse for another wholly merited defeat. This is supposed to mask (from Wenger and his players) just how far behind they are. We missed a lot of chances, we misplaced passes - even David and KdB - and at times we looked very listless but we looked far superior to Arsenal and thoroughly deserved the win.

Another brilliant performance and result
Our next 4 are all winnable games and then a trip to old Trafford, if we win against them as well then we'll win the league

You are making me worry now lol
Hahaha,it’s the pessimist in me slightly everything so far has been spot on for us we couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season (alright we drew at home to Everton;-) league and champions league,it would only take a few injuries to slightly hinder us,especially in defence..but let’s not worry about that now we are top and deservedly so let’s just concentrate on the next game Leicester away ...

Thought we played within ourselves again today.

A very 'just do enough' type performance.

However, if we can successfully adopt such an approach, against a top 4 contender, and win comfortably, we really must be a special team.

Was also intrigued to note that Arsenal didn't really have any belief they could do us. A very telling sign about how others currently view us.

8 points and a serious GD. Long live Pep.
Totally agree, I thought we played at pace that suited what was required to get through the game, our first touch wasn't great, our passing not as accurate as it could be, and a number of players looked tired.

However, we beat a rival 3-1, and they didn't present much threat, and we should have scored more than three.

Prob mate!! in fairness to them today they looked decent in patches just lacked the vision & final ball we produce, its never easy going to the emerates as our record their proves!! :-/

Think it's been a happier hunting ground for them.

They could start by beating Spurs next week.

Liverpool and Arsenal are out of it already for me. 12 points is too many at this level.

Slightly worried by Kev limping around for the last 5 minutes with what looked like a right calf strain

Silva stood out for me today brilliant for 90mins. I thought it was another great display had it finished 6-1 they could not have complained we missed a number of big chances. Ederson is superb and last year we would probably have lost that game as we played without a keeper. My only complaint is that near me sit two numpties who moan all game and shout, no word of a lie, ‘hoof it’.

There's a team that play in one of Manchester's provincial towns that love to hoof it. Suggest they go over there for some proper hoof ball!
