You shouldn't be. It's year 7 economics. 3 identical houses on the same street are for sale. The price tag for 2 of the houses is £50k. The price tag on the 3rd house is £800k. Only the houses for 50k are sold. How much are the houses worth?
Didn't do economics, but if I am valuing something I own, and someone agrees to pay it, I've set the market. That's in my head anyway

No. They have. Prices go down when buyers aren't willing to pay them. They go up when more buyers are willing to pay the price than there are items to be sold.

good. now we can move on and get Jonathan Tah for half of his price.
come Txiki, you can do it.

btw, VVD are overprice.
we sign Walker from a rival, and he's a regular England player (homegrown).
if VVD are from any big 6 team, and got homegrown status, i can understand that price.
bet Soton laughing all the way to the bank.
anyway, Moaninho now can accuse Liverpool buy a defender with similar price like his donkey striker.

from soccernet. i agree with him.

overprice. one player doesn't make a difference, especially in defend. you need team effort to defend. for that price they need to find a player that can produce magical moment to create or score goal. btw there's a new generation of ball playing defender in the market that can be signed for much less than that price. Liverpool get robbed, well done Soton.

We are not even in the top 6 transfer spends by EPL teams :

Pogba
Lukaku
Van Dijk
Morata
Naby Kieta (65m?)
Di Maria

Surely, we shouldn't be the only ones accountable for inflating the prices.

Ohh yes it’s Liverpool, always the victim.
In that case, we could say Luke Shaw inflated the market , which made us pay 50m for Walker.

Let's not forget Pallister, and then Ferdinand, don't suppose 'ol Gary' mentioned them.

VVD is a very good signing for them, he'll improve them immeasurably, but, they could equally have signed a shopping trolley or a wardrobe and that would have improved then in that position.

Credit to tolmie. He said we were never interested in Van Dijk.

Pep confirmed this last night in his post match pressor.

5:10 he confirms this.
