How many points to win the league?

Thanks for posting that, what a brilliant afternoon it turned out to be, little did we know that better was to come, eventually.

Although I never dared sing it, it was when that lot drew 4-4 with Everton despite being 4-2 up, I began to think "We can actually do this".

Like most, it was after the second goal, that it seemed the right time, I suspect we might sing it a bit earlier this year, but not just yet.....not even at Anfield if we win.

The way things are I think the gap will widen, we have never looked like not winning but United and Chelsea both seem to have a draw in them every game. Last year I would of said we won't win every game either but so far we have only been proven wrong twice in 22 attempts...

If you look at the fixtures in February there is potentially a lot to gain there, Spurs play United at Spurs and then United play Chelsea right in the middle of the CL fixtures. Chelsea play United, then Barcelona and then us... I think that is where it will be decided and it will be long over by the derby.

The only danger I would be worried about at the moment is Spurs or Liverpool but they are too far away to worry about and they are more likely to do us a massive favour in beating the teams around us.

Spurs (LOL).

It wasnt that long ago that we were pleased when we got into the europa league by winning a place for fair play , then we progressed to coveting a europa spot and a top six finish and onwards to a landmark 4th place and champs league football , and now we should have champs league football sewn up by the end of January ,what next ? Win 18 games on the bounce , dont be silly . Title will be won by Easter , 88pts.

Even though it’s a crap song, I think Anfield would be ideal to wind the dippers up ;)

Haha I remember when we had just one more match not to pick up any no more yellow/red cards to make sure we got a Fair play European spot then Dunne gets himself sent off early on lol
That Fowler last minute penalty miss as well.
Both against Middlesbrough too.
Seems an age ago now

Anybody else hates this “Invincibles” talk? I mean Arsenal did it and that was them, back then ... so leave that tag to them and stop calling us if we’d be some second coming of Invincibles.

Whether we will go the season unbeaten or not, what we are doing now is much more than what they were back then. The league wasn’t as strong as it is now and more importantly how we’re playing is simply unbelievable ... everyone said it won’t work here in England but obviously Pep has rammed all those expert opinions and critiques of last season down their own throats this time around ...

Weather we achieve the quadruple or not, will we fall short with a mere treble or hell even if we win the league title (smashing all records in the process) and pick up one other cup and even if it isn’t the big one ... we’d still better the Pellegrini’s double winning season ... simply because of the beautiful way we are doing it, it would be much bigger than the Arsenal’s Invincibles ...

We all know, the reason there’s all this talk of Invincibles is just waiting for us to lose one so they can bring it all smashing down and say we couldn’t do it (even when Pep has always said that, and frankly none of us cares about that) ... for the sake of not losing, drawing isn’t something Pep would ever do ...

So let’s get rid of any and all associations with their old tag and start calling this Pep’s team as our very own “Incredibles”

Well, we already have a tag ... the Benjamin Mendy’s #SharkTeam, which is great too and now that we have our own Twitter emoji for it ... so either let’s use that more and more but since it’s not really shaken off the whole Invincibles-or-not debate from the mainstream media, that’s why I’m suggesting #Incredibles as an alternative to that old, used, abused and frankly as stuck in the past as Wenger himself ... so let’s leave that to them ...

And let’s push our own to wherever on social media we can, but also through whoever we can in the written press or tv etc.

We are creating history ...
We are the #Incredibles

Too late. Haringey have it!

Tottenham finish top of the PL’s ‘Christmas Table’ on goal difference - 1 of 3 sides taking 10 points from a possible 12 Most Points Over Xmas: Tottenham 10 (+8 GD) Liverpool 10 (+7) Man City 10 (+7) Chelsea 8 Newcastle 7

And The Dippers nick second place on alphabetical order!

City pts from last 16 games (plus any significant cup progress):

2016/17 - 35pts (W10 D5 L1) - SF of FACup and R16 of CL
2015/16 - 23pts (W6 D5 L5) - F of LgeCup and SF of CL
2014/15 - 32pts (W10 D2 L4) - R16 of CL
2013/14 - 36pts (W11 D3 L2) - QF of FACup, F of LgeCup and R16 of CL
2012/13 - 30pts (W9 D3 L4) - F of FACup
2011/12 - 35pts (W11 D2 L3) - SF of LgeCup and R16 of EL
2010/11 - 29pts (W9 D2 L5) - F of FACup and R16 of EL
2009/10 - 26pts (W7 D5 L4) - SF of LgeCup and R5 of FACup

23 to 36pts, average of 31pts.

You could look to 2015/16 and say the 2 long cup runs tallied with a poor league return but equally you can point to 2013/14 when we did ok in cups and got 36pts from 48.

I really think going far in the CL will take much more out of us than people think, but we should still land at least 30 points (W9 D3 L4 is extremely achievable)

Well although it was a CL semi final that season, only the Pelle has managed significantly less than 30, since we became a genuine title contender. If you look at the pathetic state of the team then in every aspect, effort, organisation, inspiration etc, especially the meek performance in the CL semi, it would take some going, for this season's team to drop anywhere near that level.

It looks, going off that list you have posted, that we are likely to aquire a lot of points this season, irrespective of the cups.

I haven't heard this song yet? When will it start?

We're going to win the league
We're going to win the league
So now your going to believe us
So now your going to believe us
So now your going to believe us
We're going to win the league

the Cult might sing it for you on the 14th
