Saying someone has a slight injury so not on the bench is surely a more likely ruse for a transfer in the offing than not risking injury for someone having a medical by actually putting him on the bench and more than likely bringing him on at some point where Chelsea could crock him in 30 seconds. Especially if they think he might be heading here.

Or am I missing something obvious here?

Perhaps Ozil is genuinely injured. Who knows?

Mate. It was Done. Everyone had their feet up thinking we had him. Right down to the last few hours. He was still well odds on to come to us early doors on that transfer day. Personally i think we'll nab in in this window, But Wenger is still a stubborn **** and could easily toss £25/30 million away and keep him.

No it wasnt done when they played liverpool no fee was agreed so the playred him.

Hes not on the bench for tactical reasons thats for sure.

yeah i can just see them now, play a kid who you have just fined for being on the piss before a big game instead of a world class player that could win the game almost single handedly.

Wenger is a genius and he is also a bad liar.

Sanchez is ours.

I could of swore we put a £60 million bid in and it was accepted. But your saying it was never done or in anyway was ever going to be done in the summer?..Granted it fell through, But I'm fairly sure it was close.

I can't see the Arsenal board being too keen on that. My worry is that they're a bunch of incompetents, though.

Or earlier today, it was decided internally that Sanchez would remain at the club until summer. Alexis protested and behaved in an unacceptable manner and was thus benched as a reprimand.

Lol, they aren’t going to kiss goodbye to £20odd million with a player not playing.

Does Wenger really have the last say if an offer is on the table?
Kroenke doesn't seem to care about anything other than the cash and even he knows that 20-30mil for someone going on a free is to daft to turn down. Wenger is hardly going to walk and if he did, he won't exactly be missed by many it seems.
