There is a saing in American football regarding defence. Its "bend not break". Although our defence bent against the bin dippers, it never broke. Salah caused us problems against a 3 man defence. Otimendi and then Kompany struggled covering the space behind Mendy. We will more than likely play 4 at the back, if Delph plays he will have his work covering Salah. This will also leave space behind him and then we pass around Salah it will mean their defender will be isolated.

This is something that got completely overlooked.
Salah did cause us a few problems, but left his right back so isolated it was actually unfair.
Alexander Arnold was ripped to shreds.

Just had Big nose interview with Klipperty on Sky.
Klopp basically stated we owe them big time after the game at City. He said they were on top before the sending off everyone could see that. Also that beating them gave us a season defining win.
Nah, wasn't even the biggest game of the first couple of months. That was Stamford Bridge.

I hope Sane ups his game to take advantage of this. Im sure he will, he is a quality footballer

Leaving aside that City were actually winning when Liverpool were "on top", how did his team respond to the sending off? It is often said that teams play better when they go down to 10 because the players become more determined and pull together to fight the perceived injustice. (For an example of this see City v Everton). Instead this Liverpool team folded, flopped, disintegrated, and to a man, threw in the towel. 2 ways to respond to a setback. Show determination and fight to put it right, or collapse and whinge and whine about it for the rest of the season.

Must admit I think it was the Liverpool match that gave us lift off, we had looked outstanding pre-season, but a little ordinary at the beginning. Having said that I agree with all who have said we had started to dominate before the sending off.

Bournemouth gave us lift off. Klippety needs to realise that it being a cup final for the dippers doesn't make it a cup final for us.

One of two teams that on their day can beat us. The midfield of Fern, Kev and Merlin will be instrumental in dampening down their attack and us controlling the tempo of the game. It’s going to be a tense occasion and it’s a privelage to be alive to see the two best club managers in the world going head to head. I predict a 2-1 away victory.

Also Klopp is a good manager but will never be a great one.

An improvement of sorts on Rodgers but that is all.

Great view from SS3 of thier tactics played a 5-4-0 second half formation with everybody when possible inside the penalty area lines.

Basically chucked in the towel, not the move of a side supposedly our equal.

I don't think we played particularly well against Bournemouth whereas a we idd against Liverpool and that helped give us the confidence to go on . all opinion of course and I don't suppose mine is any more valid than yours or klopps.

Easier said than done, but just keep Salah outside. Ie on his right if he's right and on his left if he's left.
He's at his best when cutting in from the right on his left foot. Can't believe he gets away with it, so much.
The same can be said for Mane.

I've not heard that, but if 'Being on Top' is going 1-0 behind, then this gurning waffler has bought into the cult
fantasy that just sticks with a belief, even in the face of evidence to the contrary. Getting snotted 5-0 and then claiming
our season has been defined by a team 18 points behind us, is making me think this bloke should be assigned a carer.

Play our best team, raz and sane to hug the wing and keep them pinned back and let them worry about us

records are there to be broken
On this day in 2013, City won their first league game away at Arsenal in over 37 years.

Since I was born, our record at Anfield (including cup games).

LLD LLD LLD LLL LLL LDL WLL DLL LLL LWL LLL LDD DLL L

40 games, 2 wins, 8 draws, 30 defeats

We're due a win !

0:4 other than history can't make a case for them, city are a different team than at any other time, drawn 2 won 20.
Fed up of this sending off excuse, it was 5:0 not a city hold on to a 1:0 lead.
Hope the £75M man has a torrid time of it, watching Liverpool TV earlier as they were discussing tomorrow ( bored and flicking through the channels), they were complimentary to us at times but still confident they will stuff us with the one class forward and center half they have.
Still think 0:4
