haha no stand by every word JFE isnt going to be 4th choice, you dont pay nearly 30 mill for a 30 year old 4th choice, you pay it to play him in the team

He'll be fourth choice but given how often Kompany is unavailable, he'll essentially be third choice. We're paying 30m for a player who will be rotated because if either Otamendi or Stones were injured/suspended in a big Champions League game then we'd have to rely on Mangala. Against top, top teams that security is the difference between being genuine CL contenders and being a team that is one injury away from being brutally exposed at the back.

I dont agree but I guess we'll see, in my eyes at this juncture in time he's more effective than John Stones

John Stones has had three poor games in a row sure, but on the basis of this entire season Stones has been one of the best center-backs in the league, perhaps even Europe

So is this the end of Tosin's City career?
Should have been out on loan from August, if not part of last season. You have to wonder what he's really got out of training, playing kids football and the odd senior game over the past two years.

This doesn't change anything for him. Evans is coming in and Mangala will be moved on either in January or the summer. So he'll still have the same number of players ahead of him in the pecking order

I suspect we'll get a top class CH in the summer assuming Komps stays that gives us Stones, Ota, Top class CH,Komps, Evans & Tosin.

Think he'll be off sadly without having had what I would say was a chance.

Personally would play Dinho at CB if we need to, and buy a DM. Has Walker ever played there? If so Danilo fills in at RB. I thought Pep was good at this sort of lateral thinking. Can't believe we are going to shellout so much unless Pep really thinks he can turn Evans into a star. Spending this much on a guy who will be 4th choice come the summer makes no sense.

He's cheap as chips and he covers Mangala who most claim isn't good enough. Possibly Pep thinks I could be without Stones or Otamendi in a Champions League game and be reliant on Mangala and he doesn't want to be in that situation.

I think it's a sensible but unexciting move.

F-ck me where do you buy your chips?

Mangala was £42m. Stones £50m. Full backs cost £50m. City don't want to rely on Mangala but if we buy another mangala from Portugal etc, it would take them a year to settle in, and cost a bomb. Evans could settle in with minimal trouble. It makes sense and minimises a risk.
