The unpopular objective thread

The Man Utd site is (redcafe) is more respectful of opinion than this one. If you say anything that isn't 100% City you are considered RAG (as I will probably for this) but you can go onto Utd's site and have a better debate - there are knobs on there as well but proportionately less. I find it quite embarrassing how often people think just because you support Utd there is a problem. I have been to over 1000 City games - other than wanting City to win the next best result is Utd lose and if we lose at weekend my entire weekend is total shit. But, my wife and father support United and I have friends who support Utd - cos you know what.. Without rival clubs and rival fans there wouldn't be football so some people should grow up
And I think anyone who went to Wrexham on Boxing Day - the week after York away has far more respect because logically that was our low point because it was 'after' the York game

I think a lot of that is because the vast majority of that site have never been to a united game and are more football fans who tagged on to united for obvious reasons. They can therefore appreciate good football.

Kinkladze wouldn't make the bench in our team now.

Ball wasn't as bad as Clarke (not sure if that is unpopular or not cos they were both shit)

Thaksin was a great owner

I thought Robinho was an utter twat and have no time for him at all. Eike Immel was cool, mainly because he paid me a lot to wash his car but still, i liked him.

You’re right about Kinky. There’s not a bench big enough for him now.

I can actually see why Yaya was upset that nobody got him a cake.

If Otamendi gets into double figures this season I'll change my username to Otamendifanboy101

Thought the United midfield of Beckham, Scholes, Giggs and Keane is the best I’ve seen though we are very close

Don’t get the conspiracists on BM we seem to attract them like no one else

I think it adds gravitas when stadiums like O.T have statues of former legends as it acts as an anchor to the past

People who moan about early leavers. I spend 8 hours to go to home game but if I leave 2 3 minutes early I'm not a real fan.

Joey Barton was the reason we stated up the season he got knighted

Distin was brilliant for us and didn't deserve the grief he got .

Agree with this. Distin was brilliant for City and although I agree Barton was good for us that season, I think our defence - Distin, Dunne, Richards, Ball and variations of those were crucial in reestablishing ourselves as a Premier League club given how poor we were going forward.

Always clap Milner as well but then I've not seen any of these quotes that have pissed people off.

- sancho was right to leave
- gundogan hasn't really been that good
- barton was quality for us
- our fans aren't that good and rarely support the team or sing
- most of our fans only go out of habit and don't enjoy it all.

Agreed.

Having to mute quite a few blues on twitter recently. It's partly people on social media generally but too many City fans online seem borderline unstable!
That plus too many retweet and reply to shit about empty seats, Sanchez wages etc etc.

If you block and then unblock then they unfollow you automatically. Had to rid a few who would only reply to female fans or just gave you grief.

Been private more than once after getting dogs abuse from rival fans.

I’m glad other people admit they don’t enjoy going anymore. My circle of fifteen or so have depleted to just a few of us. Families, work, logistics etc has seen this happen. Attending feels like a chore and I prefer the social before and afterwards with friends who watch in the pub. City Square is shit and the cheese is only going to get worse.

Unsure our fanbase is that great or together either. I travel watching Wales away in the football on my own as I have few Welsh friends having been based here for two decades. I’ve been befriended immediately and invited to join groups at a big table. This never happens watching City. I could go all day without another Blue letting on in the pub. Friends from Milton Keynes or Essex have had terrible problems with Mancs giving them shit. It’s got borderline violent before.

People also queuing for a pint 30 minutes in baffle me. Just watch the game!

There is a lot of habit in attending games both Home and away from a lot of people and the game is secondary.
