But let me guess laporte is a world beater and worth every penny? You do wear very thick blue tinted specs sometimes.
I can't tell you about laporte but i can tell you about VVD as i've been watching him play a lot as i watch all the games on the tv as well as ours,we were interested but he wanted the dippers, that shows he is happy to settle for the next rung down and lacks the mentality for us

I’m somewhat surprised we didn’t challenge Liverpool for Van Dijk’s signature if it’s true we are willing to meet Laporte’s £57m release clause.

Aside from snippets on youtube, has anyone on here seen him

Time will tell but I trust the club, with a few notable exceptions (e.g. Mangala) the signings are normally spot on.

Can someone decipher that Lou post?

Understands considering both deals. One is huge and not stressed
- Laporte - Almost done.

the other is two different opinions of how the player should be used. It could and should take time - Fred or Seri. Which would be the best purchase considering options we already have.

Thats my take anyway.

My take: Laporte - done
Fred - Shakhtar and City argue about the time Fred joins City - now or next summer.

Always thought that Iker Munian kid was gonna be the next big thing, so I used to, and somewhat still do, keep an eye on Bilbao.

I remember us being linked with him a while back and being glad because I thought all their defenders were class not he ball. Haven't watched them in a while (Munian did another ligament and will be out probably another 12 months, like in '15, terrible luck) but if hes progressed then great!

It will take him awhile to get used to the battering rams of Lukaku, Carroll, Rondons of the world, but I think he can cope. And if he does those runs forward like that video from earlier, that should be fun to watch!

Pep clearly thinks Laporte is better on the ball - that’s critically important to him. Personally I think VVD is good but I honestly don’t think he’s great and his attitude isn’t the best either. Time will tell if he’s as good as Klopp clearly thinks he is and if Laporte can do what Pep wants him to do.
The key for Pep is that Laporte is left footed.

Yes.

He's quite good.

Wish you'd not said 'quite'

He reminds me a lot of Stones. The first thing that always remember about him is that somebody once pointed out that he has an odd stride length when running. I don't know if that's even true but it's always the first thing that comes to mind. Giggs level of one footed makes him a bit predictable on the ball at time. Got a mistake in him though Otamendi type mistakes than Mangala type mistakes. Decent sized lad but doesn't use it properly, wouldn't fancy him against a big bruiser.

He's good though, reads counter attacks well, nice left foot, likes a tackle. Got the Boateng long ball and those little dinks when carrying the ball in him. He's more of a work in progress than what I'd call the finished product but he only needs the odd screw tightening. Pep will make him world class, don't worry. He obviously fancies him and there will be good reasons for that.
