The way it happens is the same way as with a mortgage. But in this case City are the lenders, the money is paid into the solicitor account ( in this case Laporte’s solicitors) then paid to the sellers agent. Job done.

Not a chance, will need to be bedded in to the passing game, but won't take long , i would expect he replaces the Mangle on the bench in coming weeks. And hopefully we cut him some slack pace of game, getting used to a new country , settling in etc. Spending that sort of money is no guarantee of instant success.
