Sergio Aguero - 2017/18 performances

Very frustrating today. Passed when he should have shot, shot when he should have passed and just wasn’t clinical when he did have a shot. He’s got that spot to himself at the moment but isn’t rising to the challenge as he would have done a couple of years ago.

I think Aguero is trying so hard to fit into Pep’s way of playing he is often caught “over thinking” when he is in possession rather than playing instinctively. That split second leads to wrong choices or poor execution.

He didn't really get much opportunity today but isn't getting into goal scoring positions enough. We should be making more of the opportunities we are making. Can’t see us winning the CL until we resolve this.

Is this a joke? He continually wasted every counter attack. He would have had a tap in if he could control the ball. He made the wrong decision every time he was played in.

Aguero didn't have any clear cut tap-ins. Passed it to a wider open Sterllng once - who was subsequently under a little pressure and missed the shot.

Had a chance in the first half where he decided to head the ball - didn't work.

Aguero was fine IMO.

Supply links to his putative screw ups though (other than that weak header) if you can find them - I may have missed things in first viewing.
===
Edit - I think he was one-on-one with their keeper at one point but at a terrible angle - hit it, but didn't work out - I didn't fault Aguero for this.

All this he's not a Pep striker... Who is then/would be? And what do they have that Aguero doesn't?

Lewandowski isnt a grafter and no-one said he wasn't a Pep striker so it can't only be that?

We can find a much better player for our system and you know it @Dax777 (not a shot). Pep does too...as does everyone not being biased.

I literally got fired from my job for skipping work during 93:20 so I find it insulting to be pegged as an anti aguero guy (which Isn’t fair at all to me or anyone critical).

I honestly don’t care what the club does because I trust the process (and always have btw). Why Kun is supposedly immune from criticism is beyond me.

Have you watched Kun critically? It’s not fluid at all. The best way that my VERY amateur ass could describe him as is ... awkward... he misses obvious passes, is late making runs, and forces things that aren’t there.

You're in minority here mate. It's impossible to explain Aguero fanboys that their hero is the team's weakest point right now. If Jesus doesn't play in CL quarters for whatever reason, can see City being kicked out like last season, wasting lots of chances.

Is there really any need for any of that shit?

Kind of???? I think we all get the vibe that this isn’t going to end amicably.

Fucking awkward position man... Kun gave us the greatest sporting moment we’ll ever have.
The answer is no, there isn't. No need for a caveat.
Absolutely no need to be calling blues out as 'fanboys'. Opinions can be expressed without resorting to that shit.

And in the meantime, you,me and every other blue need to pray before every match in the next 4/5 weeks that nothing serious happens to Aguero, weakest point or no weakest point

Our weakest players, of those that get to play, for Peps system are Kun, Komps and ironically Walker.

Walker gets extra credit because 1. It's his first season playing for Pep and 2. His extreme pace is very useful.

Kun and Komps sadly look very out of place in this team, like fish out of water. They try hard to fit in but .......

And hope we beat Basel to reach the quater finals.
1 or 2 from Sergio might set that up nicely for him ;)

I misunderstood your post and agree with you here so I apologize. I’m happy to do so when I’m wrong.

Andrew is a blue that could have supported my post/worded it better but the fact remains that there’s a dynamic brewing between Kun in or out. The frustrating part is that blues are slated for questioning the out part.
