Do you really believe the league is over...?

I agree it's only Barca that can challenge us in my opinion and even then it's 50 50 who'd win.

PSG will be right up for it if they get passed Real.

Make no mistake though we are more than good enough this season to get the job done.

I'm not so sure on PSG to be honest. I think our midfield is far stronger than theirs and they won't be able to handle us. this is the wrong thread for this post though

Its not "done" until the maths says its done, and that will be a few weeks yet, but today's statement was "its done", and I think its added huge pressure on united tomorrow.

I think 85 points will be more than enough, and I said that before christmas, and that target is only 13 points away, and we have 11 games to get them.

We'll get many more imho, but that target is high enough, as to get there united need 29 more points from 12 games, at over 2.4 points per game, good luck with that, as they are so far getting 2.15 ppg, and the jump to 2.4 is big.

I agree and said the same in October ( not being smug ) you just know based on history, the points accrued to that time and who plays who that 85 Points would win it this season.

It might be less but I know 85 points will be the best Manure can achieve this season and whether we like it or not they are the only side that capitalise on an 11 game collapse should that befall us.

Liverpool and Spurs won't get to 85 this season for sure and certain but Manure may get to this total but again its best case scenario for them.

Those thinking Manure and Liverpool can and or are highly likely to go on run of 12 games without dropping a point are deluding themselves as we wont either.

This means 13 points from 11 games. Now I am not so smug as to say that's a target we will achieve as a given and never have but once /if we get to 85 points the title will be ours.

Remember the chant from yesteryear " we've got an m and a and n, a c and I t y, we've got the greatest football team that money can not buy, we come from Maine Road, Manchester, we're going to win the the league (we used to interject cuckoo after that), and and after that you'll sure to hear us sing" and repeat. Well I think it's time we resurrected the song because it's a guaranteed done deal, we are too good to let it slip .

If we look at it the other way round & we were 16 points behind Guardiola's team, who had actually won more points during their recent 'struggling' period, with a whole bunch of injuries, than we did during the same period, what chances would this forum be giving us, of catching them ?

None as well you know.

Outside of the forum I agree, but we have our on fans in this and the 'points' thread moaning about arrogance, premature celebrations, and now, fucking singing

The difference back then was when we sang about winning the league if we actually managed a win, was we knew there was no chance of doing so and it was an ironic song.....along with "We never win at home and we never win away".

I really dont think you can call singing about winning the league now, given the difference in the team from back then arrogance at all. Even though some of our younger fans have gone a bit rag like in some respects and I am a pessamitic miserable bastard scarred by many years of Alan Ball ect,,,,,Its done..finished...the League is won.

10 points from 12 after our defeat to Liverpool. We have managed to overcome the loss quite well. We might lose 1 or 2 more, but if we are consistent enough, the league is in the bag.

I don't think we were being ironic then, just hopeful
In 2012 we didn't sing it until the end of the Newcastle game in 2014 until we scored the second against the far from happy hammers

And so I do think we should be singing about winning the league now, let's enjoy it for once.

Only said that because there is more to come yet ;-)

Provided he players don't go lazy arsed on us like Chelsea, I can actually see huge room for improvement next season. We could actually go up a level this season when we get a full squad back (we will need to imo to compete in he CL, as we are missing too many great positions & letting in too many daft goals at the moment).

Imo we can't improve on KDB's contribution &I think it's actually unfair to expect him to maintain that level, every season. So he is fully entitled to be 'not quite as good' especially after a world cup. But Sterling, Sane, Jesus & even Aguero, are capable of much more (as we saw 2nd half with Serge yesterday) Laporte, Stones are capable of much more, if Bernard Mendy isn't an improvement on Delph, Zinchenko or Danilo, it would be something of a shock, Bernardo Silva is becoming the terrifying player we saw last season.

Maybe Mahrez (or similar) Fred, plus a host of kids here & loaned out.

One position: Fernadinho. Gundogan can't do his job & Fred can't win headers like he constantly does. That can't be ignored. Someone has to do it, if Fern isn't playing & he can't possibly keep this up at his age.

Sort that, & it just needs the players to continue putting in the same effort (which is tough). But in that case, with Pep running the show we are miles better than our rivals, whoever they sign, imo.
