Veganism

there is no merit to stopping people eating meat. It is part of the fabric of human civilisation and development, a healthy and core component of the diet and nature determines the laws of nature and is a far superior judge than a small sub-section of society.

What about the choice of the animal who wants to live. Do you think they would see the merit in people not eating them?

Do you think our morality should be based on "the laws of nature"?

It is a dog eat dog world, just because you feel safe at the moment doesn't mean it isn't true. We don't regard human life never mind other animals, we will be top dogs until we encounter something else one day and we become the food. Hopefully the fat Americans will keep them full whilst we escape.

I struggle to see the merit in what most humans think, let alone an animal. Then again, most human utterances can be summed up by "moo", "baa" and "oink". If we weren't supposed to eat them then we wouldn't have developed off the back of them being so productive and beneficial to us. You've been given the choice because of that development and each to their own from that point, but the pontificating is unreasonable, ill-judged, misdirected and unbecoming.

Does it make something morally acceptable because it was beneficial to us in the past? It could be argued that 200 years ago our society benefited from slavery being productive & beneficial, to the people who weren't slaves, does that mean it was unreasonabe, ill-judged, misdirected and unbecoming that people thought it should be abolished?

How would you feel if you suddently became someone else's food in this imagined future? Do you think it would be justified for them to cut you up and eat you, because they were now the dominant species or would you prefer it if they left you to go about your own business?

You don't get the choice in the matter as you are no longer top dog.

Animals don’t think like us humans though ffs. Most meat is bred for one reason, if it wasn’t needed they wouldn’t be here in the first place.

Not to be eaten obviously but it is the eco system of the world. Once we have finished destroying the earth it will regenerate and something else will come along.

We don't have to eat other animals though, we can survive & even thrive on a plant based diet. Growing numbers of top athletes are moving to wholefood plant based diets as they are seeing the benefits. If we had to eat them I would agree, but we can choose not too. Even cutting down could have a massive positive impact on the planet.

Would you agree that it would be a better if we tried to not destroy the eco system of the world?

It would be better if they dropped the price of Fillet steak.

Fucking scandalous right now it is.

Do you think animals can feel pain & fear the same as us?

Do you agree with dog fighting? Dogs involved in that are bred for one reason & if it wasn't for that they wouldn't be here in the first place also? Should they be grateful that they were bred for that purpose?

It's reasonable to give your own species preferable treatment, particularly if it has demonstrable benefit, as the pursuit of equal opportunity does. Besides, I would equate slavery to reprehensible farming practices, rather than consumption itself. The human race consumes the work of all individual humans, what we did in the past was treat some sections of humanity reprehensibly, and we now strive to treat all sections of society more fairly and kindly. Equally, we should do the same with farming practices, but ultimately will still consume produce the same way society "consumes" work.

Plants feel things to a certain degree, you can hear a tree for example live if you use a stethoscope on it. Where do you draw the line?
We breed animals for food, if we hadn’t we’d be nowhere as evolved as a species as we are. As long as they’re treated humanely then I’ve no issue with it, I like meat so I’ll it my fill without any guilt thank you very much.
