League Cup Final - Post Match Thread

Pep wants to (and thinks we can) win every game, so I'm sure he meant the next 6.
 
Back from Wembley

Lots I could say but I'll leave that to another time

Congratulations to you guys. Your were good, we were shite.

Nice though before the game to meet up with my old friend Adrian (a big City fan) at the Bobby Moore statue with his mate and their young lads.....obviously all City fans, too. They had all travelled down from the north west this morning and I guess had a good trip back.

They say they are registered to this forum so they got to meet @Jack Hackett

Hope you win the league...you deserve it.

what a wonderful moment when vinnie scored his goal and the whole team including bravo and the subs all came over too him and celebrated wildly with him. i love the togetherness we have and vinnie bloody deserved that moment and his performance was almost pitch perfect today. Deservedly MOTM today for me. A legend and a truly great captain, player and person.
Proud of the lads today. Did what was needed and the second half was exceptional.

Nobody will ever tell me that the league cup is a nothing trophy or a mickey mouse cup. I love winning cups and im slowly getting used to it now! The typical City is finally starting to leave my soul i believe :-) Happy hangover Blues!
 
All this talk of league cup not being important makes me laugh, rags were boasting of Maureen’s success which included this cup, and the media saying pep won nothing, only three cups to win, anyway so it is a major cup ;-)

A very average and scrappy first half from both teams. We stepped it up in the second and thoroughly deserved our victory
I was really surprised at how toothless Arsenal were and we were nowhere near our best
A big shout out for VK. I was really pleased to see him in the starting line up and thought he managed our back line terrifically and proved he's still the "go to" man

Surprising how much we missed Sane when he was subbed!!

Let's go for it right from the start on Thursday lads
 
did we just roll over one of the so called biggest teams in england in the league cup final or am i still dreaming

manchester city never win anything easy and playing a top team in arsenal in there own back yard and lets get it right here city never got going and still won 3.0. it does not happen to my club something always goes wrong and we have to work so hard just to win anything nobody give us anything easy. so we just rolled them over without having to turn up and they coughed up the league cup without a fight. i could get use to this and being the best team in the world and the other team fear you before a ball is kicked and this winning lark is a piece of cake hahahahha

I would have loved to have won that trophy today.

Anyone who says it's not important is less than honest. You ask any fan. Winning a trophy is what you remember. I'm with you Peggy.

You know you have hit on a very important issue, the team are really so bonded, they support each other, augers well for the future too ;-)
 
Just in bed in hotel in London after a long and great day. Well played city.

My few observations.

Silva, Kompany and Aguero. Legends and look at what hey have now won for city - starting to reflect what they deserve. We will never get a better at the same time contributing to our club.

City fans - thought we were quality today. Saw a lot let pissed up idiots than usual at Wembley. Not one person near me was an idiot. Absolutely great day.

I thought we would never see that again,beautiful

I was worried as he wasn't great recently and when he dived in i thought oh no and then he came roaring back to life,the old vinny was back,so happy he got his goal and lifted the cup,really want him to lift the title as well

Couldn’t have picked three better goal scorers. Superb result.

Vinny was just fantastic. Great leader and reads the game so well.

Bravo and Danilo both did extremely well.

Not sure why so many fans left before the players had left the pitch. Seems a bit odd going all that way then being in a rush to get off.

Hats off to the Arsenal Tv fella on Wembley way too. Mobbed by city fans and he was smiling away and having a laugh.

Be surprised if our cup-winning performance merits anything more than a tiny paragraph or two in tomorrow's gutter press. Am absolutely fuckin buzzin that we've another shiny new pot for the trophy cabinet. Drink in and cherish the bitterness of our enemies cos the Premier League trophy ain't too far away either. What a time to be a Blue.
