He doesn't nudge him, he just stands his ground, the impact comes from Mustafi's motion. The idiot didn't once check where Aguero was.

Biggest pair of blue tinted specs I have ever seen. Standing your ground can also be obstruction. Aguero played zero attempt to play the ball.

If that's deemed obstruction then almost every aerial challenge would be blown up for a free. Aguero was clever, Mustafi was naive, that's all there is to it.

Indeed. Actually there's something else that I thought was an interesting observation: I took a friend to the Leicester game; he likes football, but isn't really a fan of any one club, he just likes going. He's been to a fair few this year of the top six, and is quite dispassionate in his assessments.

He said that City are the quietest team he's seen. No shouting, no gesticulating - just occasional quick conversations. And that it is noticeably different to everyone else.

Quite an acute point.

This is correct if you watch is closely. One player is stationary and one is stepping back. Clever by Aguero but he has done nothing wrong.

It happens several times a game, but usually it's the defender behind standing his ground and not the striker.
Never given as a foul as standing your ground in that situation isn't.

Musta fi was just shit at his job, as highlighted by virtually every pundit.

This happens every week in every league, but it's normally the other way round
The defender holds his ground whilst the attacking player is backing in

Yes Aguero looks at the player, but he's looking at the flight of the ball first.
Aguero positions himself on the half turn, eyes now firmly planted on the ball, the defender backs into Aguero and then stops when he feels a touch, whilst Aguero is now off chasing the ball
Aguero didn't push anyone. He positioned himself and stood his ground

That is a very interesting observation. I think we do have a row every now and then, but for the most part the players do seem to be much more understanding and supportive of each other when compared to the likes of United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and (especially after that showing on Sunday) Arsenal. Tottenham seems to come close to us but have not quite reached our heights of togetherness.

I think some of that is down to the camaraderie and inclusiveness being fostered at the club, but some of it is just down to them understanding what they are supposed to do, trusting in their teammates to do their part, and realising that, while things won’t always go as planned, they are surrounded by professionals who will drive on toward their goals, despite adversity (and don’t drop their heads).

You really cannot discount how far the trust factor can take a group of people. It really is wonderful to see every match and much of it can be credited to Pep and his team.

Yes, that was his supposition - that they know what they are doing and don't need to call to each other. He made an additional point that when it went wrong with a misplaced pass, it was invariably the intended recipient who apologised; the implication being it was their fault for not reading the intentions of the passer.

For someone who likes football, but doesn't get caught up in it and frankly is in third place for him behind cricket and rugby, he's rather perceptive. Not that I'll tell him that of course.

Until I watched this I had not really thought about the fact that not only did Vinny score our second, he rinsed Mustafi to get the corner for it.

Not even a moderately sized pair of blue tinted specs. Never ever a foul.
Very clever play from Aguero and equally awful defending by Mustafi.
That’s why Aguero is one of the very best in the world.
