Chelsea (H) Post Match Thread

Neville going on and on about Chelsea not coming out and having a go did he say the same last season when the scum were worse?! Did if fcuk

Excellent performance. We controlled the game from start to finish and fully deserved the three points.

For a team that won the Premier League last season, Chelsea were very disappointing. No shots on target but is rather embarrassing, though it’s not the first time that the defending champions have come to Etihad and not troubled our 'keeper.

Zinchenko was my MotM.

I think it probably was a 'boring' game...'for the neutral' - you can only beat what's in front of you, and they simply did not want to go toe to toe, and we content to lose by a small margin. A disgusting performance really, but it gives us 3 more points without exerting ourselves too much.

Great week! I was worried after the final that we might take our eye of the ball a little, but no, We have done just enough in both games, kept it relatively tight, scored when we needed to, then taken the sting out of the games without getting drawn into a slug fest, something we could’ve done without today, and I’m surprised Chelsea didn’t try to put us under more pressure than they did.

Watching us is like watching a boa-constrictor strangling its prey. This kind of football was never seen in EPL and I can see the shitload of people not liking it and thinking of it as boring.

Comfortable. Chelsea offered nothing and got what they deserved. Had no answers.

Loving watching every record breaking pass and particularly Zinchenko growing in confidence every game.

Onwards and upwards.

A masterclass.
Chelsea were run ragged and wont chase the ball like that in an English league game for many a year.
They were the benchmark, they now cheer a corner against us

Chelsea's best attacking player, Kyle Walker!

I asked the lad next to me who's testimonial it was as that's what it was played like

Kyle Walker. I don't know what it is, but his concentration levels are different to the rest of this team. Luckily his pace rescues him, but some of his passing and awareness, jeez!

Feel a little bit sorry for @Armaan who has got pelters (as Brazil might say) for saying the same thing and me and my lad were also saying this, Walker gave the ball away a fair few times. It might seem like nitpicking and maybe in a game against an opposition who were actually trying to compete he would be a bit more switched on. Its all ifs buts and maybes but we could have been punished on another day, last season would have been nailed on to dominate the game, be 1-0 up, give the ball away and concede an equaliser.

That said really enjoyed the game and couldn't believe some of the half time comments saying it was boring. Far from it, I find it fascinating watching how we move the ball, prod and probe and stalk our prey. Chelsea were an embarrassment.

A new record on completed passes since opta stats began. 902 complete I think it was. Absolutely staggering when you consider we were playing the reigning (not for long) champions.

Walker upped his game when he took off his wrist band...
Do us a favour Kyle don't wear it again:-)

It was an obvious observation to be honest. Chelsea were cowards I still can't believe how little they offered. Just shows how scared teams are of us these days.

The defensive shape with Kdb and Gundogan looked very solid. Also felt that pep used the 2nd half as a champions league training exercise, if you ain’t gonna come out then we ain’t going to over commit and let you in.

Loved today one of the most mature performances at the end of a great week
