Who Will Pose A Threat Next Season

+1

Nobody anywhere near you and if anybody thinks Pep is going to stand still and not look to improve you continually, they are as mad as my uncle Hughie.

He’s fucking off his trolly. To be fair to him, he wouldn’t think anybody will pose a real threat.

So, even madder than my mad uncle.

No one.

I don’t care what anyone else does Pep’s strengthening will make City even stronger.

Liverpool and United probably. I think Spurs may have peaked. The way Levy operates and the wages they pay, means they've been relying a lot on the idea of being part of a project alongside young exciting players that will win trophies. I think you can only sell that idea for so long and if the trophies don't arrive quickly then their biggest names are going start leaving for market value wages and actual trophies. The fancy new stadium will probably give them a 1 yr grace period with some of those players but after that they're their chance has gone.

Liverpool will be vastly improved if they bring in a new keeper alongside Keita. However, there's a possibility their fundamental flaws will remain. Get carried away after beating a top side and then lose to a shit one. We'll also find out for sure next season whether the problem has been their defenders or if it's simply that Klopp can't defend (hopefully the latter).

United have spent a lot of late and have a massive wage bill. Can't see any marquee signings coming in. I guess they'll strengthen but then again, so will we. After the stick they've had this season and given they've looked better when they take the game to teams, maybe Mourinho will take the handbrake off next season and it will make them more of threat. That said, it will take some getting used to and there could be slip ups along the way. There's also the potential for unrest as I can see the Pogba situation continuing to deteriorate.

Arsenal will improve but they're not ready to challenge and Chelsea will be in a season of transition with probably a new manager, new stadium and potentially without Hazard and Courtois.

As for us, we have a head start on everyone else and will also strengthen (though there isn't much room for improvement broadly speaking, it's just a case of maintaining that consistency.) Given Mendy has been out virtually all season, we'll essentially have a top player coming in to strengthen at LB and hopefully Laporte will settle in. Sane and Bernardo will continue to improve and hopefully Jesus will hit his stride. Then we'll bring in a couple on top of that.

It will be harder next season but we should be favourites.

Liverpool and Spurs will be our closest challengers next year (assuming we maintain our level). Rags too if they get rid of Mourinho, otherwise no.

Sure it's already been said - US. We're the biggest threat to ourselves.

That said I don't see it under Pep - I don't think he's going to let up, and in turn won't allow the type of transfer window we've seen after previous title winning seasons

Everyone said that this year would be tough with 6 teams fighting for the title. Look how that turned out :)

Shouldn't forget that Liverpool have lost Coutinho, and I find it difficult that Keita and a keeper would suddenly turn them into contenders.

Liverpool and Spurs could very possibly be seriously weakened by losing their main goal threats

United will be methodical and uninspiring but will grind out results as they have done this season
Where the title will be won is in that top six mini league and like this season, we will go out to win matches where as Mourinho will set his team up not to lose

United will spend big again this summer, and will probably be our closest rival. They'll still be playing catch up though.

The interesting thing is where do they spend big? Full back? Ultimately Valencia and Young have been 2 of their best players, and under modern Mourinho you're never going to get much attacking output out of fullbacks, so it's not an area where they'll buy players that scare opposition - also who's available? Rose seemed nailed on but his injuries have become an issue.

I think United's big problem is Mourinho doesn't trust the defence, and that's backed up by how reliant they are on DDG making saves he shouldn't. That lack of trust turns into a very defensive approach, which makes the forwards look poor.

So to fix that they might get a pair of fullbacks and a workhorse midfielder - it shouldn't cost too much, but might allow the existing forwards to cut loose a bit and look more dangerous.

It will be the same teams as usual, but will depend on a number of things.

How far we or others go in Champions League. As this leaves no rest for players going into the World Cup.

Players representing their country in the World Cup. This possibly will have the biggest effect on players and clubs for the following season.
How far their national teams progress, How many games each player plays, Injury to players, Mentality of players when knocked out or win,
Reduced holiday time and recovery period from end of World Cup to starting new season.

Player recruitment.

Available time for coaching players, to get off too solid start.

After all that the only team that’ll pose a threat to us, is us! It’s all about the hunger and drive our players have.

Liverpool most definately. They are on the verge of something. I dont want another ten or twenty years of fucking scousers and Bread or Brooookside, or Scouse humour and the whole "we're better than the rest of the country" thing. Sorry to anyone from Liverpool on here but I lived through the 80's and all those dodgy moustaches

Only City can stop it

Liverpool have the right man in Klopp to produce similarly scintillating football but their defence needs a major overhaul. They are the team who worry me the most but I think there are a number of teams we should be wary of.

I think it’s premature to suggest we will dominate the league for years to come. After all, Chelsea were clearly the best team in the league last season yet now are clamouring for a top four spot.

it's wenger's last year. scudamore and organization will give title to him like they did to ferguson. peg will have usual 3rd season meltdown. title race will be between two north london clubs.

1. arsenal
2. tottenham
3. city
4. liverpool

year after in 2019-2020 after wenger's retirement title race will be between us and liverpool

1. city
2. liverpool
3. tottenham
4. united (with ancelotti)
